You have worked 5 hours carrying shelves up stairs. 100 shelves, say 5 at a time is 20 trips up 2 flights in 5 hours. 15 minutes a go for 2 flights, not so bad really. You will get good quads in 4 weeks!
It's fallacious because I am not on an oil rig. Similarly, if you were to tell people who work for less than a pound a day to shut and stop moaning about their pittance because in some countries they don't even get that. What consollation is to them? The shelves are so heavy that you can only carry two of them at a time. My quads are going to be of no use to me when I'm passed out on the bottom of the stairs because my blood sugars are low.0 -
I know many self employed people who work hard all day without a break, they go to work to earn money not to have a nice hot meal.0

I could do that, but I don't want them to think I'm taking liberties. In the last job I had I used to take in a protein drink and they said that it was not allowed for the sake of the others.0 -

Staff get the time to make tea & toast yet they get no break? How did they make them? That is not a work based task.
Stick a pepperami or something in your pocket & eat on your way back down the stairs after carrying up the heavy cages that many before & after you will continue to carry without complaint.
I'm all for employee right's but this & your other threads are a joke.
A break usually last from 20 minutes to an hour. It takes 3 minutes to make toast and a minute or so to eat it. That's 5 minutes say.0 -

given yesterday you were asking if it was worth working hard I think we have your work-shy number now.
Not worth the effort trying to help you, is it? Because you give nothing back but trouble.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

I know you are not which is why I said you are NOT on an oil rig.
Who mentioned a pound a day?
OK so you get 6 minutes to carry 2 shelves up 2 flights of stairs (100 shelves in 300 minutes by the way). You may feel tired in the legs but shouldnt really be out of breath even. Have some chocolate peanuts on the way down the stairs, energy & sugars in one small unit. On another note, if you are that unfit is the employer contravening Health & Safety rules by making you carry more than you are able to without assistance?0 -
