Iphone 4s cover+screen protector

Hi there,

Just wondering if someone could share the best place and make etc of a cover and screen protector for an Iphone 4s

1) hard case is better or soft case (like gel)
2) is it worth buying a decent/robust/exp case to protect the expensive phone?

I have a gel one for my HTC Desire and love it, I got mine on ebay and as I'm going to be getting Iphone4s next I've been looking.

I've ordered a Case Crown one for my 4S - as a make they were recommended in another MSE thread, and they get great reviews elsewhere. The one I really wanted was sold out on Amazon (the only place I seem to be able to find them cheaply), but the one I've ordered looks pretty good:

I'd always go for a gel/soft cover over a hard shell, as they protect better against impact damage IMO.

I really wanted one in "Purple Amethyst" but they went out of stock last week sometime - I got my iPhone this week so I decided to stop waiting!

Zagg Invisible Shield are by far the best screen protectors in my opinion. Can be pricey but worth it, I paid about £13 for my Blackberry one.

As for cases, doesn't really matter which, there's loads on eBay, all cheap.

Hi,

I've a hard case cover for my iPhone 3G at present. I've ordered a 4S and was wondering if going for a gel cover was better or sticking to a hard case one. My old phone has survived thru many falls because of the hard case. Can you please tell me why the gel cover would protect better in your opinion.

i use an otterbox defender for work and i also have a griffin survivor for work (both these cases add a lot of size to the phone but i need a tuff case for work), and a switcheasy colors for the rest of the time when im not at work.

the hard cases are very durable and can withstand knocks and drops, checkout griffin survivor on youtube, they throw it all over the place with an iphone inside.

plus it always has front and rear screen protectors on it 100% of the time to keep it as new, this way its worth more when i sell it.

with reference to the above question, the hard cases ive mentioned protects a lot more than a gel/silicone case.
