Mort I was debt free less then a month when made redundant (only ten months after the first time!) It's definitely a huge relief. It's no wonder so many have their LBM when the prospect of loosing their job occurs.

SOT I just want to document every look she'll grow so fast. Plus my family live far away, and they want to share it too. The odd thing is they are not thay repetative. She's very expressive :)

Rising stocking up on food is a great idea. Just be careful with flour and weevels :)

So the last 24 hours have been eventful here, yesterday night i noticed Eliza's toe was red and swollen, put antiseptic cream on... by 4am it was twice its normal size and obviously infected. Got the out of hours Dr, and got an emergancy appointment. Dr said she needs antibiotics, problem is the dose is huge for a baby, it has to be taken an hour before/after food. Well once given she wants comfort feeding!

Well we are getting there, I did skin to skin tonight to keep her settled. But im tired after 3 hours sleep and lots of worry. Also its upsetting her tummy too. I have 5 days of this :(

Mine has tumbled and is now a messy haystack in the corner of the living room. Mr G is getting increasingly annoyed with [STRIKE]me[/STRIKE] it. I must admit, it is an eyesore :(

    Hey everyone....

My fuel tank is huge it takes £75.00 at the moment to fill. It hurts me when I have to fill it.

I hope Eliza gets well soon, I rememver my DS being on anti-biotics and he was so ill with it. I hope she settles.

    Spread sheets ready for February....

We have Lucy the dog she is beautiful; so sweet and well behaved. Cat was not impressed but she has settled. DS is so happy which is great.

Wedding of my best friend that I attended on Friday was beautiful. A stunning gospel choir in the church. I was fine as in I was not going to cry until my friend walking in to Songbird sung by the choir....I was gone....blub blub. Lovely day spent the day with my son and then tookhim home to DM so I could take my partner in the evenning. Perfect.

On Sunday my partner completed Tough Guy near Birmingham. He is mentally deranged. He has to be. It was mud, running and swimming in dirty rivers as well as running through rat runs and up hills with 1'000's of other men and WOMEN. I was amazed any woman could complete it and the men! I saw one man who was actually crying. That really got to me.

I have updated my home savings target and I am pleased I am 'nearly' half way. Feb is a short month so I am hoping it will fly by. Here is hoping. I will feel like a massive achievement once I reach the half way. Although I am pleased with where I am now!

Have a great day everyone xx

Sam she's very poorly with the antibiotics. Horrid stuff! Tonight we'll be half way there... until then...

Well done on your savings :D

Thank you so much. When you have a 2nd child do you get child benefit for the 2nd or only the first? x

At last! I heard from Payroll this afternoon. I have missed the last 2 incrementals!! (I thought we were on a pay freeze so did not query it!). Hence I've been underpaid salaried hours since 1st April 2011. I've been covering Maternity Leave in this time too, and accrued roughly 80 overtimes hours, (also underpaid).

Payroll aren't quite sure how this could have happened, but I can expect to see the arrears at the end of Feb.

Not talking life-changing amounts, but unexpected and therefore gratefully received!

And I will be watching this April's payslip like a hawk!

Suffering from a really bad head cold today, but dozed up on Lemsip, and my 12yr old has just brought me macaroni cheese and coca-cola (for the energy!) - so it's nice to be looked after.

    Hope you are all well.

Awwww, fantastic news!:j Wishing you all many happy years together - although I love my cats to pieces and could never be without at least one but they are independent creatures at heart and really just want the odd cuddle, somewhere warm to sleep and food. The companionship and loyalty of a dog is truely wonderful to experience - also unconditional love like the cats but .... all the time!
Gap her toe is nearly back to normal :)

Great news :) hope she's fully recovered soon .....

Well, what can I say about today - probably not as it's not been one of my better days. Glad it's over and I'm home - going to try to chill out for a wee while.... my shoulders feel like boulders they're so tight! (Think a hot soak will be required later!)

I've made it to the end of Jan spending 8.22% of my annual budget against an allocation of 8.33% so on the whole that's positive.

  • It brings back memories for me ...... I work with payroll and a while back I discovered something similar had happened to someone (she'd been on secondment and had been put back to her old point on return - totally missing an increment) and she'd then gone on secondment again. It was only as I was trawling through trying to work out what point she sould go back to when the new secondment finished that I found it.

As it'd gone on for about 3 years with no-one noticing, she was due about £3k ..... it went through just before Christmas one year (nice present!). I'd had to email her manager to let them know (obviously quite a hit on the budget) and copied her in - all fine.

However, what did really "p" me off is that I never even got a "thanks" from her..... it just would've been nice as it'd probably never have been picked up and it was a lot of money ....
