trying to sell a car!

I'll be in the market for a car of similar value to the one OP is selling. No chance I'm paying out, then trying to arrange MoT. No tax is bad enough! I'd definately MoT it, and offer to tax it for any potential buyer.0

Thank you so much everyone!!! some great replies which I really appreciate! (do I really sound desperate though:rotfl: - sorry - didnt mean to!)
I really didnt think about no MOT - as it originally had 3 months on it but this has now run out - how stupid of me!!!
It is in gleaming condition - inside and out - but I will MOT it tomorrow - it has the 3 point belt so will add that to the description!!
Thanks again - and will let you know if I have any luck after the MOT!!0 -
I would find an mot station with trade plates and get them to collect and drop it off for an MOT, as said a car with no MOT is scrap or spares or repair at best.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. What price did you try selling it for then?
If its has no mot or tax then no one can legally test drive it when they come to view so its all a bit of a gamble so you should expect a lot less than the market value.
I would either sell it for spares or repairs and hope to get more than scrape value or ring around for a MOT centre that can recover it for you as you cant legally drive it on the road to get an MOT.
You could buy a days insurance for £25 and book it into an MOT yourself and drive it back the same day that may be a better option, although with completing a SORN i am not sure you can even drive it without re-taxing it."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
Hi
I have a Vauxhall Zafira Im trying to sell - its not taxed but is SORNed and its MOT has only recently run out.
Its in very good condition for its age (03) and I have taken lots of pics to show cleanliness/mileage/general condition
I started at the price that auto trader suggested and have dropped £500 off the price since then...............................
...........so why wont it sell????
Ive tried the local paper/auto trader(twice) and ebay - what am i doing wrong?
Its a lovely car - a great runner - I dont need the space it offers any more and would prefer the space on my drive!!!
Any clever car sellers out there with any tips????:D
How much have you the car advertised for?
£500 off £10,000 probably means it wont sell. £500 off £1,000 and its probably a reasonable bargain.0 -
Dropped £500 off it, How much is it listed for now?
03 with not tax or MOT, People dont want the hassle so your looking at a few hundred £ for it.
Not selling its overpriced.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

LMAO please explain how you can tax it without an MOT??...
You can drive to an MOT station and home but it has to be booked in for the MOT (no driving around looking for an MOT station) and the police will usually check that its booked if stopped. You will need insurance cover aswell, a days cover bought online should be fine, or ask your current insurer to add it on the policy for a couple days (sometimes its just as cheap to add it for a month).
Like others have said though zafiras are 10 to the penny so yours without an MOT with just put most buyers off straight away unless the price was really low.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
