Blue screen on computer

When I logged onto the internet this morning I'd barely been logged on 2 mins before a blue screen suddenly appeared with a big long message, the start of which said 'PFN List Corrupt'.
After restarting the computer it now seems ok but I'm worried in case it happens again.
Can anyone give me any advice please?

Hi
Did you install K9 Web Protection/or any new software recently? PFN blue screen of death is usually related to writing to memory but can be bad drivers. Uninstall anything you installed recently.0 -
I don't think I have installed anything lately...did update iTunes last week I think but don't remember anything else.0

Yep usually a memory or hard disk error.
Download and run Memtest http://www.memtest.org see if that bring anything up
Run chkdsk
Download and run SeaTools (designed to diagnose Seagate HD's but work on any) http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools
let us know the outcome.P.I.C.N.I.C problem: Problem In Chair, Not In Computer0 -
Downloading SeaTools now. How do I download Memtest...can't see anything on their webpage.0

Click "Download (Pre-built & ISOs)" - you'll need to either burn to disk or install it to a bootable USB stick. Click the version that corresponds to whichever you prefer.P.I.C.N.I.C problem: Problem In Chair, Not In Computer0

Yep, backup your data, if you don't have any bootable media around the best thing is to run the hard disk diagnostics first and see what they come up with.
