When phoned a few days ago I told someone from " Microsoft Computer Centre" that I couldn't have got any problems on my PC because I hadn't got the internet or a phone line! Confused silence ensued ...followed by the dial tone!!

Why can't these people phone when I'm bored and have some time on my hands? I was in a real hurry the only time I got one of these calls so I'm embarrassed to admit that I just said I don't have time for this so !!!! off.

I had one of these calls last year...

They get you to open up the system event log and they tell you that anything with a warning or error next to it is a corrupt file or virus....

I had nothing better to do, so kept them on the phone for over two hours, they even passed me on to the 'supervisor'. I'm sure she threatened to have me arrested at one point.... told me they were base din manchester.

I recorded the conversations, I'll have to see if i can find the files
  • hi first of all sorry for having caps on , phoned bt they said that there was nothing they could do baout it as calls were from outside uk, i am just wondering how many people have fell for the scam, i am normally suspicious with things like that but was nearly had.
  • I had one of these earlier this year and when I said that I was a web designer and was damn sure that my system was clean the line went dead! lol
