As mentioned in previous posts - something like this is impossible to enforce. China have been trying it for years, and plenty of the population there manages to get around it without too much difficulty.

People will do much more good for their children/teenagers if they just supervise their internet use.

And also educate them of the dangers for when they use the internet in school, libraries or friends houses.

I think this is the problem, not the 'adult entertainment' sites per se.

It's the relative ease with which people, and especially underage teens, can view this sort of stuff.

And again that won't actually stop it. People still view child !!!!!! despite all the methods employed to stop it, granted it is not easy but people still find a way. A distastful as the above is, I imagine it would just serve to push this kind of !!!!!! further underground making it even harder to track. The resources to police such a thing would be phenomal.

The Church of England do not support every server that make up the WWW. These sites just switch. If eventually they try to make every ISP in the UK block these sites, just hop on a proxy and the WWW is open once again, with the added bonus that if you use a good one, they are nigh on impossible to track.

I think you're missing the point but as you just see it as "a bit of !!!!!!" nothing serious then just a few women being strangled whilst being tied and beaten up etc etc

Soft !!!!!! with two apparently adults might be fine but lots of the stuff is very degrading to women and desensitises men to violence against women.

Still I guess this comment just about covers it:
"I'd suggest few men want to have the discussion with their wives as to why they've opted in..." If !!!!!! is fine why should men not want their wives to know they are watching it??? Or is it just fine for men to watch it secretly??

Trying to ban it from the world wide web, or in truth trying to ban anything from the world wide web is impossible though. If it can distributed digitally it can be put on a website no matter what it is. It's impossible to police. Do you not understand that?

The petition might have it's heart in the right place, but it's objective can not be met.

Does this mean normal BDSM* would be banned? I think its unfair if that's the case as a general rule it takes place amongst consenting adults, why should they be punished?

* i don't include strangulation/rape/etc in with this-just normal BDSM stuff

why ban page 3.....its a lady showing of her boobs, are the british turning in to that much a nation of prudes
(as a straight female) least page 3 ladies usually have a nice set of boobs, think of some of the sights a young children would see on the beach with women of all shapes and sizes going topless

!!!!!! - well imo that should be up to the parents to control what children can look at on the internet - not leaving it to something else for the government to deal with
