    I am using a samsung galaxy s2
i have found the site to be okay
the scrolling around is annoying and every time i writing a message and press return it takes me to the bottom of the page
Maybe posters names could go above the post so you could just scroll down and see everything also the report buttons etc are in a really annoying place
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

I am really surprised they have not released a mobile version of the forum. Unless you have the absolute latest Smartphone the forums are just too cumbersome to navigate. On Blackberry 9700, it will automatically close after a few seconds. Overloading the memory.

I made a post last year that by default Vbulletin (software forums runs on) has the mobile version already setup. You can login and make posts in a snappy text only version. Example here: https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archive/index.php/f-1.html

I can't fathom why they would cripple the forum and frustrate a growing band of its users.

I thought this would be a higher priority than the homepage masthead!

Seconded, near unusable on most mobile browsers Ive tried and isn't intuitive on my Playbook either.
Strongly suggest either an app release or some sort of mobile forum software.
ATM its a desktop only experience.

I've tried using the forum on my forum before, but it's a nightmare, too cluttered, takes too long to load. There really needs to be a stripped back version for mobile users.
  • I'd have to disagree with some of what has been said above. I am using a smartphone (iPhone 3GS) but certainly not by any means the latest one out there. I use Safari as a browser. As with almost any websites, I view in landscape mode and zoom just enough that the text fills the full width of the screen - poster's names vanish off the sides, yes, but it's a simple job to scroll across if you particularly want to check who's said something. I've experienced no issues with the site crashing at all.

The problem comes when you try to change pages, as the only way of doing so is to zoom in further, then zoom back out again once the new page has loaded. Time consuming, and even well zoomed, still tricky to hit the right button to change the page. The drop downs on the site work well - in fact, better on the phone than on a laptop using a touch pad as there is less chance of hitting them by accident.

Considering both the new style forum and the question of mobile use - on the face of it it's better - you can see the poster's name for example. However, the additional width of text for desktop viewing means that you can't zoom far enough to read comfortably. I suspect that more than a few minutes of reading once the new forum kicks in and headaches will be looming! (In fact, I'm about to go and change the phone back to the current view, whereas the laptop is staying on the new one for the time being).

    that's my feedback.

Otherwise I find it very easy to use on my phone.

I can't add more than others have said, it's fiddley from my phone, slow and there's too much information. I saw in the first post about tapatalk not being discussed, it's a shame because it's a great app that gets round most forum related problems.

quite surprised it's not optimised for mobiles already. It is definitely a pain. I have to turn my images off on this site to make it anywhere debs usable. But then i have to turn them if i want to do something specific, like answer a pm. Irritating.
