The money front sounds ok bar the HB stuff.Guess it takes so long due to them having no staff as well.
Glad to hear Goblin is behaving and what a clever idea with Firefox and hiding it..you clever girl0 -
Lula, YES YOU CAN manage on the £200! x'The road to a friends house is never long'0
-
Yep, I'm with Souk and Taxi - of course you can manage on £200! Its a good amount for a grocery bill - I've been spending in that region or above myself, pro rata, and when my sister stayed over, I realised *quite* how much food I had in the house
the bill for this month is going to be about £20, if I have my way - well, about £50, anyway. There really is a *lot*
:o:o
You brilliant person, tho, hiding firefox and using it for personal stuff! How brilliant is that :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
G'morning all,
I did my waitr:)se shop yesterday morning & was pleased that kitty food was £2 off if I bought 2 boxes so His Royal Furriness is now fully stocked with munch for the rest of the month :j
This is important as he's starting to go out more now & I dread him bringing home his catches to share
I agree that I can indeed live on the £200, this is the figure first given to me by the CCCS for our family to live on, when I did their online debt remedy all those years ( ok, just 4) ago & I see no reason to change that just because prices have gone up. If it was just me, I could live on half that, but I'm quite fond of both DD & the cat so £200 it is :rotfl:.
Having topped up with the extra bits I needed, I'm now left with £109.50 + £2.50 which I spent on buying an e-cloth for DD1 & have to take back from the money I'm using to do hampers for her.
She & her B/F are moving in to their new home & apart from all the items of furniture I've been saving for them : sofa bed, bookcase, 2 tables, bench seat, old desktop computer I'm making them up some hampers to start them off.
Their first month's mortgage payment is HUGE so I want them to have a full stock when they move in.
Due to my stash of goodies, both cleaning & pantry, I've made a good start already without spending anything, so the e-cloth is the first item I've spent money on
.
My goal is to do it for no more than £100 & I have decided to use some of the Holiday Fund for this project ... it's the only properly spare money I have ... although, I do have some Amazon vouchers & about £50 of Boots points, so could always use those up
I've finally caught up & completed all the surveys that were drowning my inbox. I just couldn't face doing any last week so have probably missed out on some points, but frankly, I don't give a damn
. I am within £7 of a You Gov payout & really really hate how they try to con you into taking prize points rather than hard cash by using that pop-up box as soon as you've finished a survey . I think that's a very clear message about how government operates in general .
Grey & gloomy again here today, but I have plenty to get done & if it does brighten up later as predicted, then we'll be out in the garden tackling the pruning.
First task is to empty the washing machine & load up the next lot of laundry & then to try shifting & rearranging some furniture.
Bye for now

Sounding good Lula! I am rubbish with grocery shopping - maybe just adding up what I spend would be a start!

I made up a hamper for my sister when she moved into her first flat. I had great fun doing it and I think it was far more appreciated than a bunch of flowers, although I think she might have been a bit disappointed that I didn't put any wine in

You lovely person you :A - hamper is a fab idea. I should write that down somewhere ready for when someone moves!
£200 sound doable. Have just scrolled back through my monthly spreadsheets and there are times when I have managed with £125 for just me - though it's the months that didn't involve Christmas, work chaos or master's so it probably has a lot to do with staying out of M&S at lunchtime
