I may have to deposit DD at nearest boarding school for her own safety, am overwhelmed with urge to throttle her

DD stripped her bed as requested then ambled to the sofa to watch a DVD.

I enter her room to open window & discover :

    - 2 pairs of dirty school shoes on the floor ( should have been cleaned & polished last week end)

    - The pile of clean & ironed clothes I gave her 10 minutes previously is on the floor.

    - 2 bags of rubbish on the floor

    - yesterday's dirty clothes on the floor

    - yesterday's lunch box on the floor

    - all the surfaces covered in bits of paper, sweet wrappers, & just bits of !!!! that should be in the bin.

It's less than a week since I last kicked off & had to remove all comm devices.

I have the grandaddy of all headaches & I really want to scream or just get in my car & drive off alone.

I'm really not cut out for this parenting lark, it bores & depresses me.

    Oh dear Lula!

Is she overwhelmed and doesn't know where to start? (I know I get like that with cleaning sometimes! :o :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:) Could you get her to do one thing a day (rubbish in the bin, clean shoes etc) rather than her landing up leaving it all il the weekend and having to do it in one go? Easier said than done I'm sure! :D

(of course, you've probably tried this and a million other tricks :D I'm just thinking of how overwhelmed I get sometimes when I look at a whole room that needs tidying (regardless of the fact that I 'should' have tidied it as I've gone along) :o:o )

    Thanks guys,

** there's a toddler being wheeled along the road, absolutely purple in the face & screaming in rage & kicking his feet & that's exactly how I feel right now, I want to have a big tantrum :p:rotfl:**

I think Cheery has hit the nail on the head, only it's actually me that's feeling overwhelmed; too much stuff in the house anyway ( like sofas, tables etc that are waiting to be claimed & removed by DD1 once the house move goes ahead)

I feel like I'm forever tripping over something or having to move stuff about to just get on with normal everyday tasks, the laundry basket seems to be on automatic refill & the airing cupboard is bursting.

I admit to feeling a bit narked at DD anyway, when I collected her from childminder yesterday, apparently the reason she was asked to stay later is because she had complained that when at home, she "just gets told off for watching too much tv anyway :mad:".

There is nothing more infuriating than your own child giving a hard-luck story to the person you are paying to look after her while you work at your 2 jobs. I swear I'm on the verge of snarling , baying & hearing Bad Moon Rising in the background :rotfl:

Anyway, I've decided that this hormonal rage is an opportune time for a complete spring clean, done my make up bags, the bathroom cabinet, & I'm eyeing up the kitchen drawers as the next opponent.

DD is in her clean & tidy room, doing her home-work on her laptop; poor deprived child :p.

I'm off to put clean sheets & covers on my bed whilst getting one step ever closer to cutting down the tv package.

Hugs Lula - Is there a way of reducing your tv package so that you only have freeview? I think that I would remove TV & DVD privileges until DD tidies her room and does the jobs she promised to do. Thankfully I don't have kids.

Must try and visit your diary more often - too much going on at the mo in looking for a job, packing, sorting out my carp and planning a house move of my own. My parents have decided that I mustn't pay rent anymore and they have savings doing nothing so they have set up a trust fund to buy a house for me - should I remarry or get back together with the one I am trying to be rid of then I must pay them back. Little house spotted viewed twice by me and twice by parents, offer made Monday, accepted Tuesday subject to survey. Negotiations have started over the fridge/freezer, gas cooker and washing machine (these are around 4-5 months old) along with old teak sideboard and single bed in the spare room (handy for guests). It needs a new fuse box too and I cannot wait to get in there - it has carpetted floors, a garden front and back, lots of storage and central heating (it will be warm), it has a new roof, new gutters, double glazed throughout - it also has a pantry...I want the pantry more than anything else:rotfl:

Horace, CONGRATULATIONS on your new home - Great news :D Wishing you much happiness there :)

Ah yes, seems there was a bit of parahormonal acitivity going on yesterday, I've not had that swollen rage-induced headache for a long time so I was completely unprepared for it.

I used that energy & completed most of the tasks on my list; now I have just the easy & splashy ones to do :).

I treated myself to a delicious supper of cheesy doritos & an entire bottle of sparking rose & it truly worked wonders.

Good humour has been restored, I slept very well & woke up & got up at about 7.30. The delivery company have texted me with a delivery time approx to just one hour so that's great & then I need to get myself to the post office to pay in some £2 coins.

The reason being that I have succumbed to the lure of a fabby pair of boots from an ebay outlet store :o. Knee length, dark chocolate brown which is what I wanted. They had a 'buy it now' price of £78 but were also open to offers. I thought I'd be a bit cheeky & offer £35 ... amazingly, my offer was accepted :j so I've paid using my clothes account card, hence the need to pay in the £2 coins, as they are NOT counted in the Clothes Challenge.

The cat needs some more food as he's refusing to eat the cheap own-brand version anymore so I'm going to have to pay out for the Hills Science stuff again. We'll do that this afternoon at nearby pet store, I'll just buy one bag though, as the chemist place I got the effective flea treatment from are on Quidco & offer free delivery on orders over £40 so I'll stock up after next payday ;).

Last week I had to book a couple of rooms for work again & only earned a couple of squids, but it keeps the holiday fund afloat.

Right, I'm off to do something useful,

    bye for now
    xx

I have just lost it here big time Lula for exactly the same reasons and it's definitely hormone related (although I lose it for those reasons when it's not hormone related too;)).

Hope sanity has been restored and you enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

I'm much calmer now thanks Poles - likewise, that particular issue drives me nuts normally, but when on a horomonal rampage, I lose any form of reason & rationality :rotfl:

I really think that lie-ins do not suit me, unless I have absolutely nothing to do, no chores or tasks or errands to run. The feelings of being overwhelmed this weekend, are in, caused by having lounged about in pj's far too much last weekend.

As you can see though, the only tasks I haven't done are washing the floors - which I prefer to do on sunday evening anyway - buying the cat food & finishing the first book on my list.

The delivery arrived half an hour into the appointed hour so I was very impressed with that. I decided to make the 2 lots of soup simultaneously so had 2 pots on the go at once & then decided to use up the spotty bananas & remaining oranges & made another banana cake. I'm seriously bored with that now though, so am not going to buy bananas for a week or so.

Once the soups were done & the cake was in the oven we whizzed to the post office to pay in the £40 ( must remember to update sig as now only have £48 in Jasper), got a baguette in the co op & then had some tasty soup for lunch :).

Took ages to clear & wash up & have a new project to start; I rarely use any of the recipe books I have & they annoy me by cluttering up space, so I'm going to copy all the recipes I do use into my own book & get rid of the others. I have a book with dividers in it so ca easily separate into sections & it will be full of stuff we actually eat, rather than stuff that Delia says we should eat :p.

It's raining here now & I cant be bothered to get the car out so we'll get the cat food when we're out & about tomorrow. Not sure where we're going yet, but DD1 is keen to come with us too, so we may end up exploring over her way for a change.

Right, must go & wash the colour from my hair now & then I'm going to sit down with a cup of tea & the book :)

Can't remember if I've posted a list of the books I have to read ... might do that so I keep up to date & don't stray from the path towards the beckoning wild Amazon woods :rotfl:

    Bye for now

Life at work has been rather irksome of late, but it's not very constructive to come on here & rant & it also rather perpetuastes my feelings so I've concentrated on finishing my book instead.

I do still have to tell the tale though, but my rage has gone.

I've been spreading our company name all over the web through various business networking sites. Our website is being redeveloped & we need more customers. Gropey has been letting me run free with this & it was not common knowledge until the day Goblin overheard us discussing which photos to upload.

I'd been home about an hour when I noticed a missed call from the office. I rang in & she said that 'they' needed access to the website I'd been using. I asked why & she said 'they' needed to check something. I assured her that Gropey had all the info but she brushed over that saying she couldn't find it on my pc.

I was a bit confused but told her where to find it ( had to explain where you find 'favourites' :wall:) & talked her through the whole process. she was asking where I'd entered the marketing info & then I heard Gropey's voice in the background & she said that it didn't matter & got me off the phone.

I was really annoyed that he'd passed my project on to her & resolved not to fester over the weekend but to tackle him on monday.

On monday I walked in to find a typed note from her, with lots of changes to our marketing blurb written in red :mad:. I actually ignored it, because I'd already changed what Gropey had said anyway as I thought my version was better :p.

However, when he arrived, I casually enquired as to why she'd called me & he started seething & ranting about her. Turns out, she'd waited til he'd left the office to call me, was in the process of changing everything herself & he caught her at it while she was on the phone to me. He was really angry at her & I think embarassed so told me to ignore what she'd written & that that he'd put her in her place.

She never mentioned it when she arrived, but I'm not being anything other than civil to her.

The next day we all had a look at the plans for the new website & Gropey mentioned about having someone write a weekly blog about our products & services, what we do & little profiles on all the staff.

I enquired as to who was going to write the blog & he said it would be ME :j. I was chuffed to bits, came home & started planning in my head all sorts of things & jotting down some rough ideas with a view to giving him a sample of what I thought would be good. My enthusiasm for the business was renewed & I felt really confident that I could do this project well.

Today I was having a chat with Laidback Dude & suggested that rather than have actual pictures of us all (Goblins professional working outfits of fleeces, jack-up trousers, white socks & trainers alone would drive traffic away from the site :rotfl:) he could do some caricatures of us.

He looked at me in a pained way & then told me that "apparently, that's not going to happen anymore" :(.

I'm gutted & suspect that the Goblin has had a hand in dissuading Gropey from the idea. If the idea isn't hers, she won't support it. If the idea is mine, she'll actively speak out against it. It's just a constant drip, drip, drip of undermining me, changing whatever I've done, arguing against me, putting me down & whenever Grumpy & Gropey aren't there, she'll pull rank by asking me to do the most ridiculous things, just to make herself feel more important.

I don't care about her enough to hate her, but the time is going to come when I walk across the office, grab hold of her helmet hairdo with one hand & slap her jowly cheeks with the other before walking out, borrowing the neighbours fork lift to pick her car up & place it on the roof of Gropeys car.

He will rant & rave about her, assure me that he has dealt with her & then carry on as normal. I cannot forsee this ever changing, so it is I who must change or move on. I will maintain dignity, but I will have to do something to get ultimate revenge on her.

For now, I amuse myself by doing little things just to annoy her; like turning her nasty fake flowers upside down in the vase :D.

Childish but satisfying; any other harmless suggestions very welcome ;)

In other news; there has been a distribution to all the funds which are flourishing as follows :

    Childcare : £140
    Xmas : £80
    Gifts : £80
    Entertainment : £51.60

I still have £15.70 left in my household spends budget & while there are a few things we could do with, other than milk, eggs & loo rolls there's nothing essential so I will pop in to waitr:)se tomorrow after dropping DD off, but keep control of my purse.

The car needs fuel & a very thorough clean & in the interests of money saving, I may well use up that £4.50 tatco voucher. DD has decided I am allowed to use it for that, but only that & am not to set foot in the store.

I had a missive from Uncle Richard today; cheeky thing is increasing the cost of my bundle by £3.70 a month. I've spoken to DD about this & she understands that we need to downgrade our package. I'm still debating about the phone. Personally, I don't need it, but to not have one still has connotations of poverty in my mind :o. When DD1 moves in to her home, they are intending on getting a home phone so it will be cheaper for her to call me ... that'll be 3 family members & the sales people who use it then :rotfl:

The rent is to go up by £31.60 a month & I'm expecting un-glad tidings about the council tax & water rates any day.

The good news is that I have been allowed to take Grumpy's dog out for a walk the last 2 days after work. He was very muddy yesterday, but today was beautiful & almost worth having to sit through work first :D
