Nice day there Lula
I wear my best make up daily - what's the point in keeping in my make up bag unused? I just don't wear the darker colours during the day - a bit overkill for my job and lifestyle. However I am treating the darker colours to a night out next weekend to jazz up my dress (not buying anything new)
Clothes wise, managed to avoid the 25% off at Tu clothing in Mr S today - had a look at Gok's range, hmm, not too sure about some of these. Some look cheap (are not) and some are better quality. A pair of trousers looked ok, but can find the same elsewhere for less so didn't bother

Okay, this is the place I can ask about eyeliner, I've realised. I *like* eyeliner! I've seen it on you, Lula, and it stays where you put it. How do you do that? What product? Something over it to make it last longer? If I could use makeup to get a look I like, I'd probably use it *more*!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Morning all :j < that's what 2 cups of coffee does
Marty82 - welcome welcome & how fab to have a gorgeous guy on board too . You can join in any of the chat whenever you want & please feel free to offer any insight, from either the gay or guy perspective. To be honest, I've moved on from the energy provider stuff & can't actually remember which one it was - am a fickle customer
.
A debt-free or savings diary on here really does add a whole new dimension & aspect to dealing with what can be a very lonely & arduous journey. There may well be waves of enthusiasm & apathy along the way, but that's why this place is so amazing, there's always support, sympathy or whatever you need.
Karmacat - morning Sweetie, I love eyeliner & it's been a large part of my life from about 1978 when my mum gave me her 'cake' ( basically a solid block rather like paint but in an eyeshadow like container) of it & a brush to play with. It was quite revolting really as you had to lick the brush to make the cake wet enough to use but it kept me amused for hours.
If you're looking for a more smudgey effect then you can't go wrong with starting off with a cheap Rimmel kohl pencil, they're very soft & go on easily without dragging on the eyelid ( take note, BodyShop) Draw your line along the upper lash line & then use either a cotton bud or teeny sponge ( some eyeliners have them on the other end or you can buy them cheaply) to smudge it. This makes it a much softer enhancement. If you want precise lines then you'll probably need to put a base on first or use a liquid or gel liner. I hate the feeling of liquid or mousse makeup so tend to us mineral powder instead. I'm rubbish at using eyeshadow & feel 'over done' so tend to stick with what I know
Have a play around with colours; grey or brown may suit your colouring better than black which I generally use, or a lovely sparkly dark green if my face is the right colour.
Hope that's of some help & I have an idea which I'll pm you about later.
Really, I only came on to write up a boring Task List but it's so nice when lovely people pop in for a chat that I get all swept along & distracted.
Gruesome list to follow ...0 -
- Apply for new photocard licence - DONE
- White wash - DONE
- Ironing - DONE
- Hoovering & de-dusting - DONE
- Swish kitchen & bathroom - DONE
- Tidy up everywhere - DONE
- Pretend to do a meal plan - Actually DONE a real one !!!
I know it's a bit cheaty to put on a task that I've already done, but hey, it's motivational.
There's also another list of things to do :
Fun Task List :
- Wardrobe reorganizing & charitizing - DONE
- Bookshelf clearing & tidying ...
- Raking up leaves - RAN OUT OF DAYLIGHT ( aka - too cold & windy:shhh:)
- Make soup - DONE
- Eat remaining 2 muffins from yesterday - IN PROGRESS
- Plant remaining bulbs in pots - RAN OUT OF DAYLIGHT ( see above)
- Have a bubble bath & read magazines ... DONE0 -
Really steaming through the tasks - after the prep, soup just cooked itself while I got on with other things. Had a panic about having only one onion & no potatoes but then had a look through cupboards & freezer & realised we don't actually need them this week, hence the meal plan came into being through a different & far less scary method :rotfl:
Really fancied a baguette with soup for lunch, but refuse to spoil a NSD ... then had a brainwave & despatched Littlest to the co op with a £3 reward voucher in her hand & instructions to get the baguette & spend the rest on herself
Can't imagine just how many NSDs have been spoilt, & grocery budget broken by not using those vouchers before - they've been sat there for months as I was saving them for christmas. Another lesson learned in not necessarily saving stuff to use later
Will continue with tasks after lunch ... hoover before eating a baguette - that would be madness.0 -
Lula,
Thank you for the lovely welcome. You come across as such a nice person and you have a wonderful way with words too which should make following your diary a joy!
Loving reading the make up tips; it almost sounds like a science! Can't offer much help in that area except to say that I now and again use a bit of Sheer Cover concealer and foundation if my skin is looking really bad. I know it's a telly shopping purchase but it's quite natural looking so I can get away with it as a slight cover up even though I'm a guy! I do find that YSL Touche Eclat is great for hiding the dark circles from under the eyes too.
It sounds like you've had a busy day so well done to you. Your talk of soup and a baguette is making me ravenous so have just filled up with a big bowl of porridge. I don't think I would be putting "raking up leaves" in a fun to do list but each to their own. I'm also waiting for my new driving licence but it is going to take a bit longer due to needing medical reports from my doctor. Hopefully nothing to worry about but will reveal all once I start my diary which I am hoping will be tomorrow!

Hello again,
Marty - I do try to be nice & think I usually am ( we are only on page 3 though :rotfl:) but there are certain things that set my Sabatier Tongue off ( usually Tatco or 'someone' at work ).
I'm intrigued as to this concealer you use - will have to investigate) & I've never actually used Touche Eclat either. I should probably get some though as I am more of an old hag than I like to admit.
I have no issues with boys wearing makeup - I was an 80's teenager so my role models were David Bowie, Adam Ant, Steve Strange & Robert Smith ( who perhaps, needed a little more help with application than he got) to name but a few.
I've really enjoyed getting the home clean & tidy today, chaotic environments unsettle me & I lose track of just about everything.
During the tidying up I found a waitrose card which they want me to use each time I shop ... not quite sure what for & there are no rewards as such; but they did send me vouchers for a free bag of sweets, a free roll of wrapping paper & a 5p off per litre voucher for use at Shell garages *FRUGAL* There's one not far from here & I can use my nectar card there so I'll fill up next week with the Tatco 5p off voucher & then in December using the Waitrose one.
I've sorted through the wardrobe & put the last of the warm weather clothes away & got Monday's outfit ready - new Joe Browns dress that I need to confess to  *FABULOUS*
I've also admitted sorted through my shoes & for work will be wearing one of 4 pairs of boots ( black leather, brown suede or grey suede high legs or beige high wedge ankle boots) or 4 pairs of shoes ( black t bar stilletto heels, bronze ankle strap mid heels, black embroidered suede ankle strap wedges or the mad grey shoes with red heels & red ribbons) I do have a couple of pairs of ballet pumps but prefer to wear boots with dresses & dresses are 'my new thing' * FABULOUS*
Until my snake hips make a miraculous reappearance ( ha ha ) I am avoiding trousers where possible. I've not worn dresses much at all since I was about 10, except during the summer or when on holiday but over the last year or so I've suddenly started to really enjoy wearing them. I felt terribly dressed up at first but now I love them & am constantly scouring ebay *FRUGAL*.
One of my favouritest films ever is on tonight; 'Chocolat' :jFantastic writing by Joanne Harris - my favourite author, beautiful film, love, sex, magic & chocolate all intertwined with the sexiest man alive: Monsieur Johnny Depp :heartpuls:heart::heartpuls:heart::heartpuls.
I'm away for that bubble bath now so I'll be all fresh & fragrant for Johnny :rotfl:.
A bientot
