Jealous of your foxglove nails! I can't picture what colour that is - although I figure I should be able to (I'm thinking kind of dusky purply-lilacy-grey, although part of me wants to think a much darker purpley pink colour...) :p

    Hello again,

KC - rest assured details will be provided, although there's not one among them that I'm remotely interested in & I've not boozed for weeks so will have to pace myself ... probably won't make for exciting revelations :o. T'will be fun to get out though :).

Cheery, it's a No7 nail colour & probably a dark purpley pink colour rather than lilac. I love it & am using rather than the freebie red one I got with a mag last month.

That has stained my nails inspire of base coat & I'm really not happy about it as they look awful hence I'm having to wear an intense colour to cover them. I also treated myself to a fab little turquois / teal colour this morning - it was paid for by my £6.50 vouchers so perfectly acceptable :p.

Yes, on to the shopping & brace yourselves, because it is a truly gruesome amount to spend BUT, there's a very good reason & I think you'll all be rather proud of my total lack of shame :rotfl:.

I've been dallying with the idea of joining the Frugal Living Challenge, but not sure I can keep up with another thread, still pondering at the mo. Anyways, they are masters of stockpiling & bulk buying & I've been trying to do this myself in the last few weeks, with a view to minimal spending as from January.

First stop was nice car wash man & a £6 spend from my pocket money - worth every penny :p.

Then into M&S where I've been hunting for a long chocolate cardi but it seems this is the least fashionable item in the country, I can't find one anywhere :(.

I did however, find a lovely little black wool cardi with silver buttons that will be perfect for wearing with the silvery dress tonight - if I'm walking back from station, I need to be warm & I used the vouchers from my energy switch so it was Fabulously FREE :j & I still have another £5 card to use.

Then in to the dreaded Tatco with the mission to bulk buy any fantastic offers. I did gather a few necessary girl bits & some hair dye, the turquoise nail colour fought it's way into the trolley as did the 8 packets of supernoodles :o that DD has taken a disturbing liking to, but at 60p a pack I can't complain.

Then on to the delights of the household & cleaning aisles where the real bargains are to be had.

I came across the big boxes of surf tropical washing powder at just £5 a box - usual price £9.49 - so I grabbed 2 quick. Then I did some quick calculating, thought of the Frugal Living Challenge & shamelessly helped myself to another 4 boxes ... leaving just one on the shelf - sorry, people of Poshtown you were too late :p.

So, I have 300 washes worth of washing powder for just £30, that's just 10p a wash & will last us well into the second half of next year.

It was also a saving of £26.94p how damn Frugal is that :T. I've had to store them under my bed along with the giant packs of loo rolls I keep buying ... at least it's better than the junk that used to be under there.

I ended up spending £48.56 on household items, another £30.31 on toiletries & just £20.83 on food. With the nail polish & 2012 diary it was over £100 but I used the vouchers to make it less scary.

This means that I had to pay full whack for fuel & even with the 5p off per litre, that was another £38.04.

On the way home I had to stop off at the car shop to buy a new headlamp bulb - nice policeman informed me last night that one of my headlights had gone :(. Usual price was £8.99 but the till said just £6 to pay so I was happy with that & I got a £2 coin in my change.

I asked the nice man in the shop how to fit it but to be quite honest my eyes glazed over & my ears just heard ' la la la ' about 2 seconds after he said "pop the bonnet" :rotfl:.

I don't deal with the innnards of cars anymore than I would attempt to replace one of my own eyeballs so I'll offer £20 to one of the guys at work to do it - man did say it was a tricky pig of a job - he'd done his daughters last week, & no he wasn't in a rush to do another one, whatever the price - how selfish :D.

All this stockpiling & fuelling did cost way over what I have in the bank so it did have to go on the CC, but I'll be paying it straight back on Monday as soon as tax credits hit my bank. I'll then have about £25 to last me until payday on the 30th _pale_ but I have fuel & we have plenty of pasta, beans & sauces so we'll be fine.

Aaaagh just realised that I need to top up DDs lunch card so need to see how much that will be before I think I have £25 left.

    Back in a bit ...

Ok ok, so I'm a Capricorn, hence errant goats do tend to find their way into my thread.

I love goats & I'm determined to have a herd/gaggle/school/shoal/butt (ha) full one day.

But only if they are the tree climbing variety.

In the meanwhile, some pinups for you...

Though there does seem to be a calender for all sorts of fetishes...

Oooh lula I've been stockpiling too! My best thing so far was buying 30 bottles of fairy liquid for just over £12. Amazon is amazing for such offers, especially if you can get the free delivery deals (I make a point of refusing to pay for delivery with amazon). So far I've had sugar, museli, pasta, tomato puree, washing powder, fabric conditioner, branston beans and tinned tomatos. Not sure whether my washing powder deal was as good as yours though, 10kg for £34 I think you might win that one. Although mine is vegan and environmentally friendly.

What other frugal things are you doing? Have you gone and bought loads of pump dispenser bottles to decant into yet?

I'm now at the stage of "but I'm comfy in my jeans & converse & it's cold outside ... shall I just stay home " :o.

I'd be happier if I was driving - but that means no boozing so I have to get the train - far too tight to pay for taxis ( although I'd obviously pay for yours Taxi :D)

Thanks Kerri - never thought of Amazon for groceries & I get all my survey rewards converted too.

I am usually very green when it comes to my cleaning products ( have an ecover love thing going on) but have not been able to give up my gorgeously scented washing powder habit :o.

Will consider when I've got through this lot.

Off to get glad rags & lippie on & spray, delay then walk away from the fog of seduction perfume :rotfl:.

    xx

I can't have scented as I have sensitive skin and sit there all day scratching otherwise.

Have a fab night out =)
