FYI, 20 minutes for my 'wraps as lasagne sheets' dish in the end - my new oven is a bit slower to [STRIKE]burn[/STRIKE] brown things than the old one. All gobbled up, just the way I like it! :rotfl:

Pudding rice in a savoury dish to follow ... Good news is that the boys will eat gloopy messes!

I use "normal" washing powder and just hand wash them in the sink. Just put the powder in first with some hot water and swish it so it dissolves and then add cold till it's suitable for hand washing in. You do have to rinse it extra sometimes though to get rid of the powder bits ;)
Thing is I always buy tablets now cos of lack of space, I,m just going to do it, should stop the problem of flyaway clothes :rotfl:

If shampoo doesn't work, you could always grate a little bit off the tablet, couldn't you? I can't see why shampoo wouldn't work, btw, it's all detergent ... although I think one with conditioner in would be less effective. I did once hear a very satisfactory explanation of how that works, having them in the same bottle, although of course I can't remember it now! :o

May be an idea to toast them in the oven for a little while prior to freezing to avoid mushiness - that's how the supermarket wedges seem to be done. :o

    Thanks
i`ll try this next time i make a batch.

  • Hi there

I read somewhere on this site, but can't remember where that you can use money off vouchers in tesco etc without actually buying the products as long as they stock them.
Is this true? Have any of you done this and do you get funny looks!

Just trying to avoid embarrassment at the checkout!...but would be great for saving as I get loads of free mags at work with coupons...

    Thanks

    HI, :)

It tends to vary from store to store within the chains. If you go along to the Discount Codes 'n Vouchers (online & offline) board you'll find quite a few threads with up to date information.

Shop but don't drop has some threads too :)

  • I've received a cheque today and the zero in £10 has been written with a slanting line through it. Is that how some people write it (I've never seen it before) or when I take it to the bank are they going to say it's been crossed out?

I write my zero's like that all the time, as long as words read ok then the check the bank clerk should do is that words and figures do not differ, which they don't. The line through the middle should be a forward slash as on your keyboard, going diagonally from right to left, from the top to the bottom. Last three digits of my post code are 0JR which people read as OJR so I have to put a forward slash through it. Hope this helps. SG

I have a velco problem. My ecomop has a flat metal blade to which a special microfibre cloth attaches via velco on the head only. The velco is full of bits and will no longer stick. I have tried cleaning with an old toothbrush but no improvement. Any tips or should I just try to replace the velcro?

    Thanks

The velcro site itself says that THE best thing for cleaning velcro is...

    ...VELCRO

    Honest :)

Use another piece (of the spikey bits) like a comb.

I'll try and find the original link - watch this space.

Getting those annoying little bits out of velcro...
