Modern smartphones are more interesting and exciting than ever before due to the huge breadth of additional games and applications that you can add to them. If you're bored with modern smartphones, you probably need to find a new hobby.
Done plenty of gaming on symbian phones and after that the hardware on the smart phones is simply upto the level needed to play games. As for apps - the only useful thing is the email and internet for me -anything else is a bigger security risk if you lose the phone.
Everyone has their needs, some of us want a good battery life coupled with hardware which performs and lasts a bit ... and some thought to design. I particularly like my BB (first BB, only had it 1 month) because I find the navigation key a good alternative to messing around on a touchscreen and its a qwerty keyboard. Still not perfect but each phone has its good and bad - some of just want the good in one phone but can't find it. Very very good battery life, lots and lots of storage (160gig say like an ipod), secure software, solid design and powerful - can only hope for that one day.0 -

I don't think there's many people who would pass up at the chance of having a phone that did absolutely everything they wanted in the best possible way, but without any downsides! Sadly, no such phone exists and everyone has to make compromises to some extent to find what's best for them. The trick is to find the device with the least number of compromises :cool:0 -
I have to say, I pre-ordered a 4S because I wanted one, and my iPhone 3G was excellent but becoming aged. I am not disappointed. Siri is a joke and not the feature they should be selling it on, but I've (for example) hammered the phone all day today and still got over 1/2 battery - that's a massive improvement on the 3G which I understood to be pretty good for a smart phone anyway.
Surely the battery problem some are experiencing is at worst a bug in something that affects users in a particular situation, and can be solved reasonably quickly.
As some have mentioned, choice of phone is definitely horses for courses. 4S is the right thing for me without a shadow of a doubt and I respect 100% that for others something else might be. Just not sure why some people's immediate stance is that everyone else has bought the wrong phone because their choice isn't the same. Sad.0
