Hello Mr P. You can't go wrong with Carvoeiro on the Algarve it's about 40mins west of Faro airport (transfer cost about 40 euros). It used to be a small fishing village and is now a hidden resort full of restaurants/cafes. It is great for families - I have 4 kids and we go as often as we can afford. Try https://www.carvoeiro.com for info and villa rentals. The beach is great and everything is within walking distance if you get a central appt/villa. The cost of living is lower than here so nothing seems to be a rip off. I highly recommend this place -the beach is the centre with a square surrounded by rest/bars and in the summer street entertainers appear every night - it has a super atmosphere. If you hire a car there's loads within a 20 min radius - 2 water parks, Zoo Marine, Algarve shopping Mall as well as beautiful beaches and more rural villages to explore. Another vote for Carvoeiro here... my MIL & FIL live near there and it is great - we go 2 times a year!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
