How about this Indesit £199 : http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4785668/c_1/1|category_root|Kitchen+and+laundry|14418476/c_2/2|14418476|Washing+machines|14418685/c_3/3|cat_14418685|Freestanding+washing+machines|14418686.htm lots of reviews and free delivery.
£20 argos voucher you can put towards christmas presents etc.
I haven't looked to see if it's cheaper elsewhere but it seems a good deal.
Our current machine is Tricity Bendix (now part of Indesit) that came from Argos and was similar price. We bought it in 2003 so it's had a good innings. Just our experience of Beko that has put us off buying cheaper brands!
Start putting some money aside if you can for a new fridge rather than wait until it breaks!
Thats similar to the one ive been looking at on comet its the same price as argos but a 7kg load, here http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Washing-Machines/buy-INDESIT-IWB71250-Washing-Machine/729752
I thought that was a good deal, but the one you posted is good as i forgot about the £20 voucher, good find!..i wasnt sure if indiset was a good machine or not these days, but Id of thought they was better than beko.Dony worry,be happy...0 -
Have you tried freecycle? People sometimes get rid of stuff that is absoutely fine. Got to be worth a look
might sound daft, but how do i get onto using it,,last time i tried, and im going back years,,it was something to do with yahoo groups i think, you find the one in your area and join it..or am i of course hereDony worry,be happy...0 -
I never pay lot of money or white washing machines living in a really hard water area the insides are damaged almost instantly and the water softeners available in shops are worthless. I buy budget and replace when necessary, we are a family of 5.
So, I have had both the machines in question, The Beko is absolutely great, I am using it now, my mother and I bought the same machine over 3 years ago and neither of us have had any problems so far, however, I have a beef with the length of time it takes to do a wash but I think it is all eco machines now that take 2 to 3 hours to wash 1 load. If this machine goes wrong I would buy another, and I have had Indesit, Zanussi and Jvc0 -

Thanks,,its one thing i dont siffer with is hard water, after stripping the current machine down, there was no limescale behind the drum at all,,after reading the reviews i have noticed the lengh of time it takes to wash, but then again ive read reviews on a lot of machines and i see this patern of wash times.
Does the beko spin automaticaly after it washes,im a little behind with washing machines, but a neighbour bought a zanusi a few years back and she said after some cycles she has to go in and select spin manualy,,ive never come across this beforeDony worry,be happy...0 -
Hi
Just because you live in an area with hard water really isn't a reason to buy a cheap washing machine. Miele, Siemens and Bosch washing machines are made in Germany where they have many areas of the country with harder water than us in the UK.
As long as you use a decent brand of washing powder and do the maintenance wash on the machine every week or 2 any machine will be fine. In fact you get a better wash from a machine on hard water rather than connecting it to soft.
As always buy quality, it will be cheaper in the long run.

Need to decide what you need /want and how heavily it is going to be used abused.
Beko is 5kg/1000 spin and the Indesit is 7Kg/1200 spin.
If you only have small/light loads and not too concerned about the spin then Beko - Large family loads then Indesit.
Out of the to brands I would probably go BEKO. Mum has had BEKO fridges/freezers and recently Oven/Hob. All being good products with no problems. She is on her 2nd Bosch washing machine and it isn't a patch on the first.
Indesit is part of the Hotpoint/Ariston stable.
IMO whilst people have brand allegiance and no doubt paying a lot more will get you a better product both of these will give comparable service.
Have you considered Samsung at all?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
