My eldest will be 6 the week before christmas, so same scenario. 1 thing we are looking at is getting him swimming lessons, as he wants to learn to swim, but we dont have the patience :-)
  • How about a Papaerjamz Guitar? Another thing my 4 year old keeps asking for is a Marble Run, the Quadrillo ones look really good, and he's pretty keen on WWE stuff too, and puzzles :)

Thought I would bump this up with what we have our 5yr old for christmas who also has a birthday on the 21st
Sorry but mainly lego and a leappad we also bought him a MP3 player - I did think he was too young but my husband has put story books on it and some music. He loves listening to my ipod so hope he will like this. The other thing is how about a xbox between them?

:hello: wendyphant! nice to see you again :)

aww that is sweet about the MP3 player. Maybe I should do that for my DS.
  • MY little boy is 7yrs and is getting a Scalextric and army figures/vehicles plus a load of other littler bits.

When he was younger, he had a Junior Scalextric - we got it when he was about 3 which was too young and he wrecked it but i think 5 would have been the right age for the junior one. He recently discovered the one knackered one and was really disappointed that it didnt work hence the "proper" one for xmas.

He loves his Nerf guns and if u have other boys, get them one each lol! My son is an only child so his grandparents have got him a nerf target for xmas lol... will hopefully mean me and his dad dont have to join in halfheartedly every other day LOL!

He also loves Bakugan (u will need to google lol - kind of like simple transformers mixed with pokemon) and also quite likes Moon Sand (great stuff!!)
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
  • My 5 year old grandson, who is here often, likes board games. He just learned checkers. His favorite game is Ludo, kind of like Sorry. We all like Skippity, it involves jumping over game pieces. He plays Lego a lot and often uses the Lego mats to play on. He loves his small cars and trucks too and will use the Lego mats for them too.

My 6-year-old loves Lego, Nintendo DS, Bakugan (and I think these toys are much better built than any transformer toy I have seen), and anything to do with Ben 10. We've also got him a Nerf gun for Christmas, but we've been advised to get lots of extra pellets. A target sounds like a good idea so I might look out for one of those.
  • Lego, board games, something toy story, new PJ's, cuddly toy, some Cars 2 cars and a scooter

When my boy was wee he enjoyed playing with those big water guns. Messy, and needs a garden outside to play in, but if they both have one it could be kind of fun. Any snow where you are? How about a pair of those toboggans? They are not very expensive? The other thing my ones liked when they were wee were those big bottles of bubbles which had a think to make the bubbles which made several at once. Personally I liked playing with their bubble gun - when they gave me a turn :-)

He also liked remote control cars at that age.

My DS is 6 on Boxing Day so we always have a bit of headscratching to do. It's also quite easy to feel we're going OTT, but then I feel sorry for him because we don't get that problem with DD as her birthday is in April.

Anyway, this year, DH has bought a Playstation 3 for his birthday (mainly because you can play blue ray DVD's on it and DH wanted it - although DS will love it). He's also having a nintendo DSi for Christmas because he's never had one, he plays with my pink DS, which is now wrecked. I got him a "big power hand" last week, which is a kind of robot hand you fit over your hand like a glove. Also got him a laser stunt car which is a bit like a remote control car that follows a laser.

I've been buying bits and pieces for a while, can't really remember what altogether. My dad's getting him a scooter and either a football or rugby top. MIL's got him an air hockey table which I think we're going to have to move house to accommodate.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
