Thanks guys, I will try all your advice when I get home tonight.

Yes, My Mums had no end of problems with her home hub which is currently being used as a plain old wired modem as the wireless aspect keeps cr*pping out. It had worked for months then for no reason just cut off so I've spent a long time on the phone to India sorting it out then again and again. It involved allowing them to remotely acces my Mums Pc to go in and do whatever they needed to do to get it to work. Which it did for a little while then same problem and each time I was assured this would be the last. So my Mum is back to having a cable running up the stairs and has paid for a box which doesn't do what it ought to. Even when the wireless did work it wasn't a very good signal despite her PC being able to detect networks from other peoples houses.
I'm currently looking for a BB provider and needless to say I shan't be using BT.0 -
