Debenhams have 10% off beauty from today anyway. So either the code is not yet active, or it can't be combined with the discount already given maybe? You only need one item right? So I'm going to be the voice of reason (ahem) and advise you to only buy the item you need.
according to MSE the code can be used as well as the 10% off and starts today...will try again later.......if i do buy anything I will get the thing I need and another cheaper item so as to get the goody bag which is quite classy and will be good as a pressie(well that is my excuse!!!) and of course will go through quidco(did not last time so that did not effect the code)0 -
Still lots of splutterers for me I'm afraid - I just want them all gone already! That said two of them have been pretty major bugbears for a looong time now so once they go I'll feel like I've got over the hump of using up stuff, but it just feels like it's taking forever...Does anybody have any primer recommendations? I've heard good things about the 17 one..?
How have you all been?
xx
It's not cheap I grant you, but I really like Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - I definitely feel like I look more 'awake' when I'm wearing it and that it makes my skin a bit brighter, as well as helping my makeup stick better - my skin isn't particularly oily but I do notice a difference if I don't wear Flash Balm. Benefit's That Gal is nice too for doing what it's meant to, but I'd like a different design to the tube as it never felt like it lasted very long and I wasn't exactly trowelling it on..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
sawan- I use GOSH velvet touch which I think is really good, people have commented that my skin looks smoother and clearer and it helps my makeup last all day(I don't use it everyday)but I haven't tried others. My friend has tried a few primers and she says this is the best one so far. I have heard no17 one is similar to the GOSH so maybe go to boots/superdrug and have a look?Toiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:130

The code isn't working for me either and the email says it should work from today hmmm.... Oh well, will try again tomorrow!0 -
More UUs! I'm on a mission...*mission clearout*
The Body Shop mini bottle of aqua lily body lotion....don't even want to think how long I've had this! It's quite nice really!
And used up a Nivea pure and natural (or whatever their new range is called!) sample of day cream, this felt nice, it's quite thick though...0 -
Sawan, the best primer I've tried is Laura Mercier but it's way expensive. Haven't tried GOSH or 17 so if they are any good I'll be buying them once I've exhausted the Mercier stuff!
My UUs are really slow this month, it's annoying. I'm hoping for a bonanza of using up next month in time for Christmas.
Some ins (of course). I was in Superdrug last week and spotted a Collection 2000 product called 'shimmer shades' - glimmery powder in four shades that you swirl together - and all the make up was on 3 for 2. So got that and 2 x Rimmel hide the blemish, which is the best concealer ever (and I've tried them all). Felt a bit naughty but the good news is that the shimmer shades gear is fab! It is as nice as the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick I used up last year and only costs £4.20 or something. Recommended.
Also did some non-beauty & toiletries shopping. I need a "no to buying unnecessary clothes and especially keep out of Karen Millen" thread, but anyway I saw some pictures of Jodie Marsh (!) in the papers a couple of weeks ago. The headline was " shock as Jodie Marsh spotted in nice outfit" or similar. She was wearing a lovely purple dress that looked a bit like a Roland Mouret and would be good for day or evening. I googled for it and found out who made it (not sure if I'm allowed to say, it was by a company called So Couture and was £85) so I ordered it. Hurrah For fab dresses, the purchase of which can be justified by not wasting money on more toiletries than I need!
BTW Pickle, I was sorry to hear about your perfume catastrophe. I'd have been distraught! Back in the day when not all perfume had a spray I had a stopper detach itself in a handbag and spill the lovely scent. Wish it had spilt on my bed like Rosemary's!0 -
Loads of news from you all, too many to say something to! I too have had Perfume Disasters... you could weep, couldn't you.
Another body butter UU Body-lishuss Strawberry from Poundland. WIBA?
Yes, to this one. The strawberry scent was really nice and for the money the butter rubbed in really well. You'd expect it to be light perhaps, it's a really thick rich butter. This and the coconut are the two I would buy again from the range. Not so the cocoa or mango. The mango is OK, it's just that Tesco's is so much nicer, The cocoa is very chocolatey.
Non Bought IN'S two 50g ish jars of gorgeous Day Cream and Night Cream to trial. Oh lucky me! I am really happy with these.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
