If people start leaving London en masse because they cant afford to live there anymore they will take other peoples jobs. Careful, they might be after yours.
They'd have to learn our weirding Northern ways. It's not easy ya know.
Besides, we give all our jobs to Poles, not Southerners, didnt ya know0 -

It sounds like you are making an exception to your 'baby boomers robbed us blind' argument for Northerners then ?
(on account of us having little of value anyway).
Exception accepted0 -

Nick Robinson is a raving Lefty (regardless of his past), you only need to look at the comments on his BBC blog/articles to see that. Laura Kuenssberg is far better and a hundred times more impartial than him. I don't expect everything and everyone to agree with my point of view, but I do like to think that a tax paid for news service should be impartial.
Makes you wonder doesn't itA campaign to persuade the BBC to fire its political editor Nick Robinson is gathering steam on Facebook. The group claims the election coverage by Robinson was "too biased" towards the Conservatives and in four days it has attracted almost 1,600 members. One member writes that Robinson was "unable to hide his glee when Cameron finally walked into Number 10".
The group, which is called 'Nick Robinson should not be the BBC's political editor', claims that Robinson is "consistently unable to disguise his bias in favour of the Conservative Party". Led by its creator Peter Tennant, it insists that this is not a personal attack on Robinson but wants to "addresses a specific concern regarding BBC objectivity".

Look, I'm not from London, and I no longer lived there. I moved there when I had to for my career, and moved away when I could. I have also worked on the other side of the world to earn a crust. Turned up at Narita airport with a tourist visa and a smile.
If a lot of people from North who were unemployed got off their sofas and went a couple of hours drive south, where there are jobs, the North's welfare bill might be a bit lower.0 -

Looking at those unemployment % for parts of London maybe some of them some of them should getting off their sofa firstJust out of interest if there are so many jobs in London why does it remind me of Kracow around here?

I wasn't really commenting on the jobs issue as it doesn't seem logical to just push people int an overcrowed SE, maybe that's another reason not to waste billions on HS2?
The debate was about BBs shafting the next generations and I merely pointed out that SE is it's own worst enemy and that this, alleged BB fueled milking of society, is somewhat polarised.
Rather than direct angst at the BBs it should be levelled at the failure of successive governments, in allowing our manufacturing base and utilities to be descimated, whilst keeping up the illusion of well being by allowing easy credit that the "country" could not/cannot afford."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... You need to wake up and look at the motorways at the weekends mate. Thousands of people in the UK are economic migrants, and make the arduous trek to work down South. I have been one of them for significant times over the last few decades.
This is how some of us funded our house deposits, and levelled with the BBs. I'm surprised you didn't do similar.0 -

This makes no sense. Why have you spent decades commuting to work only on the weekends?
I have no sympathy for people in the north who only want to work two days a week.0 -

Its very hard for people to do the north /south transfer.
House prices are much lower in the north and if your'e struggling with a mortgage in the north how on earth are you going to manage to buy in the south especially if you don't have much equity for a deposit.
Its fine doing it the other way round as we did,we sold our house in Virginia Waters and moved to the north east coast.
We bought a house the same quality as we had just sold for a fraction of the cost we sold in Surrey.
I love the north so much I could never move from here now,its a lovely place and unless you've lived here please don't berate it.
The south has a lot lacking, believe me,its realy not such a wonderful place to live on the whole.
Its alright sitting at your keyboard and telling people they are lazy etc but there are practical issues to consider.0
