As above Nationwide Flex Basic is an option, as is Monzo.
I opened my Monzo account not long after being declared bankrupt and it has been fantastic. Full featured current account with facilities many full fledged high street banks don't have, not least fee free overseas transactions and cash withdrawals.
I've no intention of moving to another bank now that I'm discharged.

This thread pre-dates the introduction of basic bank accounts and is pretty much useless now.
