What is good value at Waitrose

Free range pork - Asda don't even sell it. At Waitrose there's not much difference in price between normal and free-range. In fact even their basic label pork is outdoor-reared.
My favourite is the whole shoulder of lamb from the meat counter. I cut it up for stew and once I've removed the fat and bone, I end up with over a kilo of meat for around £8. And it's British.0 -
I like the way the reduce their prices to rock bottom earlier on and only after one previous reduction, it seems to me. Somewhere like Sainsbury's make drip drip reductions - you can almost feel the desperation to get as much for the product as they can - they remind me of the type of person who, when they have to painfully hand over some money, do it in such a way that you can almost see their hand trying to retract as it moves the money forward! Also, Sainsbury's stick their absolute lowest prices on just before closing, therefore rewarding those inconsiderates that walk in moments before the doors close, rather than those of us who prefer not to be like that and detain the employees unnecessarily.0

Just saw today that Filipo Berio olive oil (1 litre) is on offer at £2.99 (from £5.98). Quick check on mysupermarket shows asda and tesco selling at £5.99 so this is a substantial bargain for anyone who uses this olive oil brand.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

Waitrose Essentials is the only Basic Range I feel able to trust, unlike Tesco Value etc unless I have definite grounds to trust them.
I buy Waitrose Essentials Beef Mince for instance which is good. I like Waitrose ethos. Whenever I visit Tesco I always end up throwing things away so for that reason alone Waitrose is better value.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Even Waitrose can make horrible stuff. It's always a question of what's good and knowing what to go for.
I agree about the meat. One good reason to go there, the other are their ready made fresh stocks, hmmmmm, I have a few in my freezer. The best way I know to use a luxurious properly made stock. Waitrose holds no eqaul.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Dear Waitrose Fans, the Salad Bar IMHO is the ONLY Salad Bar worth using as far as Supermarkets go.Tesco's is crap and the others I know not of, but I trust Waitrose and it is lovely to be able to buy fresh salad for one's evening meal post shop.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

The essential Waitrose cannellini and borlotti beans are very good value and make their way into a lot of my recipes!0

I don't rate their sausages, but I am incredibly fussy about sausages.0
