Over the years I have tried various mascaras but what ever I use, including waterproof, always ends up smudged under my eye, and no, not as a result of rubbing eyes. Even if I just put it on myotop lashes. This also includes an eye liner I might use under bottom lid.
Does anyone else have this problem? It would be really nice to occasionally use a bit of eye make up but it looks awful within a few hrs. I just don't want to buy any more if I can find that for somepeople this just happens - maybe my eyelashes are quite oily or something and it just somehow slides off?

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Which types have you tried and have you tried looking on youtube for application techniques to ensure your putting it on right?0

I had exact same problem..
For some reason I could not find the mascara I used and I could even go swimming and it never run, it was a red tube made my lloreal. No where to be found anymore.
I have found one though, estee lauder, and estee lauder eye liner, expensive but well worth it...
I also curl lashes before applying to make them look sexier.. (would love them permed)

I havehad the same problem in the past, but now I never ever put anything underneath, no eyeliner or mascara and I also make sure I put my loose powder right under my eyes.
I'm using Bourjois Liner Effect mascara at the moment which is good for me, but I do prefer the L'oreal Clean Definition (Bourjois was on offer:D)
I also use felt tip liner, I can't use pencils, they just melt into a mess.I also curl lashes before applying to make them look sexier.. (would love them permed)
I don't get the whole curling thing. Mine are straight, point upwards and are quite long, if I curl them they just look short and stumpy, definitley not sexy. Am I missing something?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I suggest you use Bourjois Clubbing, they do a waterproof and normal formula, even the normal one doesn't move on me and I have oily skin, its a pig to remove though unless use use an oil based remover, cant help with the eyeliner though, the best I've found is Clinique quick eyes, its still not perfect though, I might try one of the ones mentioned above.
daryld - I've had my eyelashes permed and tinted, it did look lovely for the first few days and then the perm started dropping and I had some eyelashes straight and some curly and at odd angles:rotfl:I had it done for free but I think it costs about £30, I would of got my money back if I had paid.
Peachyprice - The benefit of it is when you don't have lovely eyelashes like yours, especially when they don't point upwards you can give them a bit of shape, also its an anti aging illusion making eyes appear larger and hiding the bagginess behind:eek:;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
I would agree with a light dusting of powder under your eyes.
Also you mentioned "oily eyelashes", I don't know if these exist, but years ago, in the days before lash-building mascaras, when mascara was like this, it was recommended to dust your lashes lightly with powder before applying mascara, maybe that would be worth trying?0 -
There is a dye from Boots which needs redoing every 28 days, I think it says, and I have used that and found it a bit messy and time consuming that night, about fifteen minutes from start to finish, but effective. My sister used to do this and then use clear mascara.
I don't wear make up that often, but have found the more promises a mascara makes the more clumpy it is likely to be.0 -
Thanks everyone - all really helpful comments.Which types have you tried and have you tried looking on youtube for application techniques to ensure your putting it on right?I had exact same problem..hurray - this is helpful as it isn't jut me then, there is a problem and maye I can find a solution.

I guess I am a little nervous of buying an expensive one til I can be sure it would resolve this problem..
I also curl lashes before applying to make them look sexier.. (would love them permed) I do have naturally long and curly ones..(sorry:o)

Right, I will be trying the powder idea today!

I also use felt tip liner, I can't use pencils, they just melt into a mess. Interesting - melt is the right word, so maybe I need to try a felt tip liner.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Great - I have no idea if oiliness is a problem but was hoping it might be for someone else which would show it that itpotentially could be.I would agree with a light dusting of powder under your eyes. Yes, will definitely try this next thank you.

Slightly too much faff for me:o but I will add i to the list of ideas if the powder doesn't do the trick.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I think I have "oily eye syndrome" too freidns rave about the masacras they use and when I try after 30mins its somewhere near my chin and I look like a panda.
I wouldn't like to think about the money I have spent on mascaras in the past only to use them once or twice.
The best I have found its Rimmel Extra Super Lash (its under a fiver) it stays when its supposed to and comes of without a fight.
YDSMI wish I would take my own advice!0 -
