    Update...
Christmas seems to have taken over much of the wedding planning, but I am still getting some bits done here and there. This week I have been trialling some fake tan!!! I found some on offer in TK MAXX and I must have done an ok job as no one spotted it - even when I said I had been using it my friends sid they hadn't noticed. Also OH really liked it, which is a bit of a bonus I think!

I also had a go at making the profiteroles for a croque em bouche. They were absolutely delicious, but I am not sure whether it will all be too much work. Ideally I would like a table with some French macaroons on, a multi-coloured layered cake and a great stack of profiteroles. But that would be in a perfect world!

Started work on the 'Order of the day' cards. They will be on guest's seats at the ceremony, so they now what is happening and they will have the poem we have chosen on the back. I think as there isn't a best man it will save everyone asking us every five minutes what is happening!

Hope everyone else's planning is going well??

    Megan

Ohhh, I saw James Martin (swoon) on TV last night making that! Looked gorgeous! So did the croque em bouche! :rotfl:

I loooove macaroons - would love some at our wedding but the budget is now being severely squeezed because of my dress :o:D

That's great about the fake tan. Must start thinking about that myself. I only have my face, neck and arms to do as my dress has quite a high neckline. :)

Post pics of the OOTD cards when they're done :T

I am also writing my wedding to do list for the Christmas period! :D

Wanchai - does that mean you have FINALLY decided which dress you are having?

My cousins-to-be work at Betty's tea rooms in Harrogate (Fairly famous place) so get family discount. I should be able to get the macaroons from there and may get some French Fancies too, instead of the croque em bouche, as it was amazing but took a lot of time.

OOTD cards are the same style as the rest of the stationery, but I will put them on when we are done.

I also ordered some big round balloons for the kids tables and I am trying to get a load of lanterns for guests to set off. I need sparklers too.

I too only need the top of me doing with tan - and not my face as that tends to be browner than the rest of me. I don't want to look brown as the wedding is in March, but I don't want to look pasty either.

I so need to write a list of 'to do' as I have all the ideas and 1 of everything, but it would look a bit weird only having one table decoration etc...

Yes, I've decided on the dress!!!!! It's £1,300 though so am wrestling with my MSE-ness and considering having a dressmaker make it for me!

Oh wow @ the tea room macaroon discount! Lucky you :D

We're defo having sparklers too - Zimm190's pics inspired me, they were so fab. It'll be 11:30pm by the time we get to use them though, as the wedding's in midsummer! :rotfl:

Totally agree re fake tan - I'll be aiming for a subtle light glow just to even out my skin tone rather than a 'tan' effect - my dress is very Grace Kelly-esque and I don't want to look like an extra from TOWIE! :rotfl:

To do lists are the way forward! :A

I saw a grace Kelly style dress on rock my wedding and though of you. But seriously, you don't need any more influence. Have the dress maker do it, it will be fab and TOTALLY unique. Plus if it saves you money then that can only be a good thing.

We have just received some more replies, the idea I had of sending out the place cards for writing on what they want to eat seems to be working. A little stroke of genius. Now I just need the last few to reply! Although I suspect I will be very glad I kept some behind!

OMG how exciting getting your replies! :)

I want to save money on the dress but am REALLY SCARED that the DM won't get it right or that I won't find the right fabric... :o

You will be fine - look at White Sapphire and her amazing material purchase. IT all depends on whether you can let someone else interpret your design - you have shown her the blog etc and she liked it - or whether you feel it will all be to stressful. Either way I am sure it will all look AMAZING.

Have you done any more on your wedding invites?

Hi Megan! THE best fake tan is san moritz and you can get it for £2.99 v mse. It's the same as san tropez which is almost £30 a bottle, team it with a mit for like £1 from primark so you dont get wooden hands and sunkissed all year. I'm rocking it now as I have dark hair, in summer dark skin and crazy blue eyes (I dont watch at all!) and I look like I've been a week in the Med! xx
