Hi All Looking for a bit of advice. I currently commute 82miles return a day across Scotland. Last Winter I managed to struggle in to work all Winter apart from one day, however there were a few hairy moments a few days I thought I was going to lose the car on the compacted Ice & Snow. It depends on how second hand they are, winter tyres will last 3 or 4 winters. If you buy them after 1 winter they are still good value as they have a few more winters left in them, buy really cheap and they probably only have one winter left (and you have therefore paid more than you would per winter than you would have with new tyres).
