I keep getting suggested to add myself as a friend. I set up an account and then forgot about it and set one up on a different email address, so it'll ask if i want to be friends with my other account.0

its not a common name and its an abbreviated version of my own name the person even copied a picture from my profile they have taken all the details that are visable for public..
I cant see the profile anymore but I am not sure if thats because facebook have deleted it or the person has blocked me from seeing it after I messaged them. asking who they were and if they wanted to pay my bills whilst being me...
I know when you create a profile and list your old school it comes up with possible school friends to add so I am guessing this is what the person has done and so managed to randomly get some names I recognise from way back then...
as to it being an ex I have been single for a while now and my ex is happily married lol the only thing I can think of is the ex from my teens who stalked me on and off till I was 30! although having been investigated for using government data to stalk me through his job with the inland revenue I dont know if he would be stupid enough try it again...
the not knowing who and why tho is driving me nuts grrrrrrrrrr!0 -

Could he be trying it again? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I'm a bit surprised at some of the 'lighter' comments you've had - if it were me, I'd be bricking it! Might it be worth a call to your local police station and asking what to do? This is surely identity theft of some description. If they can't help, I'd be emailing FB and asking them to take that profile down, and also checking my privacy settings. It's a bit odd they've gone to so much trouble which is what worries me on your behalf and I do think you need to take it seriously.0

I've already explained how to report the profile to get it looked at and taken down.0 -
Sounds like someone who knows you, otherwise who would they know who to add? And it must be someone from school, if they have added your school pals... creepy! I would be in touch with the police, and ask them to pop round your stalker ex's for a polite chat!
Good luck hun x
(Try logging into your daughters and searching for the "new you" on facebook to see if its still there, and get screenshots!) x0 -
Have you changed your privacy settings? Even without a previous incident of stalking, I have mine on the highest setting, so I would have thought that would be your first step regardless.0

Thank you, I have reported the profile to FB and printed out screen shots and will lodge the complaint with police in case anything further happens. I am trying to be calm about it and some of the lighter comments on here made me smile.. but I am honestly scared by it all, the effort that they have gone to, to be me on there.. I mean a lot of people would rather be someone else but surely they can pick someone better than me to be!!
I think that the people have been added to that profiles friends purely because they went to the school listed in my profile as I dont know most of them, but they have also tried to friend the few people I do have as friends on facebook (which was until now a public profile)
but I am very much on my guard and so now is my daughter, the 'new me' tried to add her boyfriend to the friend list..
its all just bizzarre I have had nothing happen to prevoke anything like this it really is out of the blue, the stalker ex has been out of sight out of mind for 10years which was why I first wondered if I had been cloned from entering one of the FB competitions..
thank you for the replies I think you have just confirmed my thoughts that it is personal..0 -
