NSD no 11 that was for Saturday and I'm aiming for another one today as I've no reason to go out this Sunday. However, I did my on-line shopping to be delivered on Monday, mega amount, but checked and they are taking the payment on Monday so may do some xmas online shopping then as well.

    February NSD challenge 5/15
  • My current tally No Spending Days wise is a rather pathetic 7/20.
This month seems to have been so far the month of burdens.
Trying to solve the decent Gourmet Vegetarian Cookbook problem, the Nanowrimo Revise what I believe is a harmful Model Burden, (decent books to teach me how to write a novel), the Defrost Problem (Wallpaper Stripper brought as a result of reading MSE discussions on How to defrost your fridge the bane of my life), the Drying in Winter Problem, now solved by the Lakeland Dry Soon 3 Tier Airer plonked in my living room.
Whether it's the pressure of news, the Eurozone bailouts, the bloody banks being bailout again!! My spending levels have been higher than they usually would.
I only have 7 days left. I need to restock on long life milk and buy train fare to london as I have a visit in London.
Hopefully I can get a few more before then, at least doing something remotely not spendng money.
    I hope everyone is well.
    Best wishes:beer:

  • I forgot Apps. I feel now compelled to buy the bloody things unless they are fully functional free.
Some really good ones Sleep pro 2 is helping me go to sleep at night so worth the dosh.
I must include App spends as part of my learning NOT to spend and do so a day at a time.

  • Have been lax with the spending diary the past few days (amazing how quickly you can get out the habit). I have had NSDs along the way but need to sit down and go through receipts etc before I can figure out when.:o

I was very naughty and bought myself a Kindle yesterday:o - I did manage to get it for a good price (started @ £89) as Mr Ts were giving £10 off if you spent over £75 plus my vouchers etc so I ended up paying £63. Still £63 I shouldn't have spent:(

However, I've managed to download some free books and sure it will pay for itself over time.

Once again, thanks for the kind words everyone .... still struggling with "firsts" and I can honestly say it's been the longest weeked of my life and it's only Sun morning - I have no idea how to fill in the time.

Think I may head down to the beech later for a while .....

Anyway, hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.

    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

    Hi
I want to join the Kindle Club as well.
Advantages: Storage space that is between 1,500-3000 book space.
Disadvantages: This !!!!es me off, Amazon charging equilavent prices for electronic items meaning it makes £££ of us. How they can get away with it I don't know.
I have and use the Kindle App on my Desktop with the option of downloading for my dead multi-functional Iphone.
(Birthday pressie for big 50 in April)

At least you can sit on a bench and read your Kindle ;)

Don't beat yourself up about "£65 you shouldn't have spent". I think that sometimes we can all get too focussed on NSDs, being thrifty and forget to live. Plus, Kindles are awesome, I love mine :D I do surveys to pay for my books, so that eliminates some of the guilt about spending :rotfl:

Sorry to hear the house is feeling empty. It will be strange for a while. *hug*

Part of the reason for that is that you pay VAT on digital books but not on "real ones".

It's almost the same for downloaded music too - I like to think that the author/artist is getting paid the same regardless and don't begrudge it. It's worth paying not to get backache from the massive books I used to lug around in my handbag :rotfl:
