Evening all, how on earth is it Sunday evening already?!

Rising - glad you found a suitable jiffy, I've just washed my kindle cover today as it was looking a bit grubby from it's travels. :)

Well today is an unexpected NSD #9 :j Was supposed to be spending the day out with my mum but she wasn't feeling too well so that got postponed. Spend the afternoon clearing the leaves out of the garden (has taken about 9 black bags worth to tidy everything for the winter over the past few weeks, and it's not even a big garden ) After which I had a nice hot bath and snoozed on the bed for a few hours - very indulgent of me I know. Mum did pop round earlier this evening so I could give her her b'day card and theatre tickets which she's over the moon with - brownie points for me indeedy :A

Can't believe it's nearly Dec already, hoping to bag some good deals for presents on Amazon Black Friday this week but not holding my breath after the debarcle last year.

Right, must finish this cuppa and do the ironing, only plus side is standing next to a hot iron will warm me up, it's brrrrrrrr here tonight.

  • Have been lax with the spending diary the past few days (amazing how quickly you can get out the habit). I have had NSDs along the way but need to sit down and go through receipts etc before I can figure out when.:o

I was very naughty and bought myself a Kindle yesterday:o - I did manage to get it for a good price (started @ £89) as Mr Ts were giving £10 off if you spent over £75 plus my vouchers etc so I ended up paying £63. Still £63 I shouldn't have spent:(

However, I've managed to download some free books and sure it will pay for itself over time.

Once again, thanks for the kind words everyone .... still struggling with "firsts" and I can honestly say it's been the longest weeked of my life and it's only Sun morning - I have no idea how to fill in the time.

Think I may head down to the beech later for a while .....

Anyway, hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.

After everything you have been through you deserve a treat Rising... & at a bargain price too!!

Good luck with the exams LondonGirl!!

  • Number 14 for me today :j

Been a very productive day, I got my bulbs planted & tried out the new sewing machine (just don't tell my mum i've been playing with it before xmas!), which is fab!!
So i've managed to hem all the too long nets in the house (i have very short windows) & wash & put them back. Then i finally got round to making some curtains for the bathroom window, seeing as i've had the stuff for them forever. They're nearly done but i ran out of white thread  There goes my NSD tomorrow i'll have to get thread cos i can't wait to hang them now :D

I'm dead chuffed that i also found a curtain to hang over the hole where the bathroom door will go (if i can ever afford one!!), & it keeps the draft out lovely, so showering won't be quite an ordeal now, & lastly i managed to relocate a shelf thing from the shed into the boiler cupboard & now i have all the groceries & toiletries that won't fit in their respective places neatly lined up on the shelves, so no excuse for buying anything till it's all used up now!!

Finished the day with some yummy belly pork & a glass of wine  as a treat for being so productive :D

Wow, sorry guys i think i waffled on a bit there!!

If you mean Wilkos BDINI our local store has no bulbs except lightbulbs :( They seem to have cleared out the section for xmas gifts. I really wanted snowdrops and crocuses too (and perhaps some bluebells. Hyacinths give me the heebyjeebies for some reason :rotfl:) Perhaps I'll have a look at the weekend and can get them in the soil then, I guess plating Sept - Nov includes up to 30th nov :D

Got NSD number 9 today, so pleased with that! Feeling rather blue otherwise, nothing dramatic but will be back tomorrow, hopefully in better spirits! :)
