Good morning folks from a so far dry NI,
I am going out today, so don't anticipate an NSD, but there's always hope! I hope everyone enjoys the weekend and collects as many NSDs as possible.
RedIf you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

:wave:Morning
We had a ridiculous amount of food from PH last night. No wonder our bellies are getting bigger! We had a 50% off text yesterday afternoon so was perfect timing for us.
myteeduck - I'd agree with everything kerri says. You've got until next year, I'd carry on paying what you can each month and keep hold of the savings, at least you have a buffer then if there are any unexpected costs.
DH is in work this morning and I have loads to do, hopefully DD will have a sleep and I can crack on with some things that she won't usually let me do. Then off out this afternoon to M@kro, hopefully there'll be no bargains whatsoever.

Morning all
Now that payday has finally graced me with its presence it's going to be a spendy day in Fresian Towers today. I'm off to the supermarket to stock up but am going to write a good list first and inventory the freezer so I don't buy lots of stuff I don't need.
I'm also going to town to stock up on Fat Club snacks/soups in Poundland then meeting a friend from MSE for lunch which I'm very much looking forward to.
I'm going to treat myself to a quick and easy dinner of some kind then veg out in front of the X Factor :rotfl:

Good Morning everyone
Won't be a NSD today as I am off to MR T's shortly for the weekly shop.
I have my list and after doing a freezer check last night (fish anyone?) I don't need very much at all........ well that's the plan anyway
Got high hopes for tomorrow thoughFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

** peeks round the door rather sheepishly **
Over a month since I was last on here (43 days to be precise), and I don't have a clue where I am with NSDs - or almost anything else
Going to take time out from all the various challenges until 2012 (I'll still be watching the pennies very carefully - and hopefully dropping in for a catch-up every now and then - but not recording anything), but then I need to hit them all running and stick to them religiously.......
Last time I posted I mentioned I wasn't sure about the chap I'd been out with the previous night - and the saying about "if something looks to good to be true it probably is" certainly proved to be accurate. About a week later he showed his true colours in a series of rather nasty text messages, and when it should have become clear that I wasn't going to respond to him any more he started to almost stalk me on the dating site (forever requesting IM chat if he saw me on-line, and leaving the request active for the entire time I was there - which sometimes meant a flashing panel on my screen for a couple of hours at a time!). Ended up having to blacklist him (stops him sending me messages or requesting IM sessions), but was then dreading him starting to text me again - and even had a panic about what if he turned up at work (knew where that was, but not where my house is). Haven't heard anything since doing that though, so hopefully he's now got the message.
The chap I was seeing prior to that wants us to give things another shot - and has been making a real effort to find time to spend time with me at least one evening a week, which is generally spent educating me in films (my taste is apparently pretty naff, and he can't believe how many films released in the last [strike]10[/strike] 20 years I've never even heard of). But he's still not prepared to make any kind of commitment (I'm not asking for a lot, as I've explained that even I don't know that I ever want to cohabit again), so I'm not currently seeing us as anything more than friends.
Met up with another chap a couple of weeks ago. Got on really well in emails, but I was concerned about the distance between our homes (well over a 2 hour drive). The meet went well enough - and I felt comfortable with him - but I got an email later that day saying he thought we 'live different lives' and that I'm 'a very busy person' (yeh, right! that's why I spend most evenings and weekends playing a game on FB!), so once we add the distance in to the equation he didn't think it was worth pursuing.
Went for a meal with someone else on Thursday evening. It was a nice evening, and I emailed to say 'thanks' yesterday morning. Only had one brief email back from him (saying he enjoyed it to), but I know he had his lads staying last night so won't have had much free time. As he's got them all today (and is out tonight), I guess it'll be at least tomorrow before I get any hint as to whether he wants to meet up again.
I've also been having some issues at work - not with people or the job, but with the working environment (the bakery cooling system to be precise). I spent most of last winter with stiff shoulders and a sore neck, which seriously impacted my home life, and nothing's changed with it since then. The Monday before last was really bad again, and it didn't make much of a light draught down my neck each day to set the pain off again all that week (and into the start of this one). Spoke to management on the Monday and Friday (and the bakery manager also spoke to them on the Friday), but it became clear that nothing was going to be done. I considered asking for a transfer to a different section, but that can take several weeks to process (during which time I'd still be in pain) and was likely to mean me working evenings/weekends which I really don't want to be doing. I could have continued to work in it whilst regularly visiting my GP and taking sick leave - and then try doing the company for not taking care of my health - which a lot of people seem to think I should have done, but I'm not that kind of person. So I ended up handing in my notice, and I worked my last shift yesterday !!!!!!!!!!
This means I'm going to have to live off my savings for the time being, but as long as I'm careful I reckon I should be OK for at least 3 years - so I'm not in any blind panic to find anything else. I'm planning to downsize my belongings between now and Easter, and then make a final decision whether to downsize the house (which could include moving back to my roots, which would also put me local to my GDs again) or not...... with a definite interest in taking up child-minding once I've decided where I'll be living - so I do have plans of some kind.
The chap I met on Thursday has been really supportive about this (I told him what I'd done the day before he asked if I wanted to meet), but the one who wants me back hit the roof and I've not heard anything from him since I told him on Tuesday (yet another nail in his coffin in terms of any chance of a relationship).
Other than that the only 'big' news is that my dog moved out 9 days ago, as a rehoming attempt finally went through. He wasn't a noisy dog, but the house does feel quiet at times. It also feels bigger - especially the front part of the hallway as I no longer have a stairgate in place, and just removing that makes the hall/stairs look a lot widerIt also seems really strange not to have to 'omit' the hallway alarm sensor whenever I set the system (to go shopping/to work/to the gym/for a run - or just when going to bed at night), but I'm starting to get the hang of that without finding myself doing the 'omit' and having to unset and reset the system properly.
And I'm on week 4 of my marathon training, as I've entered the Manchester Marathon (29th April 2012 - exactly a week after the London marathon). At least I'll have more time for that now, and won't have to do any winter runs in the dark now I'm not working (training schedule has a run every Tuesday, which was going to have to be done in the evening after 2 full days at work)Cheryl0 -
Wow! Cheryl it's been a busy month or so for you. I just wanted to post something quickly before I forgot later. A little trick that I had when I was single. I had what I called my 'flirt divert' phone. All it was was a payg sim in my spare phone that I would give out to people that I was talking to or planning to meet up with. Only once I got to know them did they ever get my real number (only 1 ever got that). I had a few 'odd' ones that I met but with that system it was much easier to ignore as it didn't matter if that phone wasn't turned on for a few days or if it got too much then it's easy to just chuck that sim in the bin and put a new one in (fortunately never got to that). Anyway good luck with the dating and all your new found spare time!Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy0
