    Evening all

It's nice to see so many familiar names back, as well as new ones. :D

Not the best day here, as I started to feel rough at work this afternoon. Back home for 6pm, cooked mash and veg to go with the ham and froze rest (enough for two more meals) and then fell asleep. :o I'm just doing a bit of work before putting some stuff away in the kitchen and heading off to bed. Early start in the morning to catch up on work I should have done in the holidays. :o

Hopefully I'll have a bit more to report tomorrow.

While you're here, I have a mallard defrosting, and some pancetta (no bacon). I want to cook it in the SC as I suspect it is old and tough... Any suggestions?

Any red wine in the house? It'll make a lovely sauce with the pancetta if you seal the bird in butter then use the butter as the base of a red wine sauce to SC it in. You could add in some juniper berries if you have some - a nice winter-warming feel will ensue....

    Morning All

 Soappie, AnWsmum and kazm - long time no see!

Well DH came home last night so that was a change and curtailed my plans for flying yesterday.

So far this morning I've put the WM on, got dressed and ironed DS a shirt - which I'd already ironed but instead of being put away it had been slung on a chair.

Not a lot done from the lists so far this week - I'll see what I can get done today and tomorrow.

Going to check the other challenges now.

    Have a good day all

    Monday Trick or Treat

Today I want you to get somebody else to help with the flying, the more the merrier. Some of you are doing far too much for your household on your own (not all I know there are lots of partners and children who do help) so today I want you to either trick them into helping you and/or treat them for doing so. Any treat will do, bake a cake, rub their feet, just say thank you. If there is nobody to help then I want you to spend 15 minutes doing a job you really don’t want to and then give yourself a nice treat. DH brought the bins in last night as he was home - does that count?

    Tuesday Do it different Day
Most of us are creatures of habit, do things in the same way all of the time. All this autopilot is not good for the grey matter or the soul. So today’s challenge is simple, try to do things a bit differently. If you always clean a room clockwise, then do it anti clockwise, always use the same mug get a different one out. Always hoover the hard floor, try sweeping it. I don’t mind what you do just shake it up a bit. Well DH came home so that changed everything around!

    Wednesday Water Squeezes
No excuses accepted today ladies. Pelvic Floor exercises please, need I say more? You know how important they are, you know you don’t like doing them but you must. So today everytime you do something related to water (teeth brushing, kettle filling, washing up, drinking, prepping veg the lot) I want you to do a few squeezes.

    Preparing for Winter Challenges:snow_grin

Monday the clock have gone back summer is officially over
I know it is sad that summer is gone but we don’t want to keep tripping over flip flops on the kitchen floor to remind us of that. Today gather up all summer footwear, hats and lightweight jackets. Get rid of any that won’t be needed next year. Put the rest away checking that they are clean and shoes are washed, polished and reheeled if necessary – you will thank me for this when we get our first warm day next spring. Replace with gloves, scarves, woolly hats, boots and winter coasts. Check they fit and everybody is kitted out for the cold days which will be here soon.

    Tuesday see the light
In case of power cuts make sure you have candles and matches, torches and batteries stored in an easy to get to place – no good rummaging in the back of a cupboard in the dark! Light a candle and hold it around the doors and windows to see where your insulation is lacking (ie where the flame gets blown) – please take care! If you have lots of candles then why not light one tonight in memory of all those no longer with us for All Souls Day. All done!

    Wednesday Potions and Pills
Collect together all the suncream, aftersun, insect repellent from bags, window ledges, cars and either store good ones or bin dregs (or check you have enough and pack them for those going on holiday). Check your supplies of medicines, pain relief, decongestants, tissues etc. Check dates on items not used for a while like inhalers. Request repeat prescriptions now if necessary

Right I'm going to do a HHC now before work to see what else I can get done!

Thanks Soappie - I have wine but sadly I'm not allowed it at the moment (no, I'm not expecting a fly baby, but my consultant has put me on a complicated diet that seems to be missing booze...), however I do have juniper berries so will use those.

One load of washing on the line, one in the machine. Just having breakfast and getting ready for my early client call, then I plan on having a concentrated attempt at cleaning the landing and spare room and clearing the study of everything that I don't need OH's help to move...
