Great Juicer Hunt

I have a Jack LaLane, and really couldn't live without it.
I live near lots of street markets, so get my monies worth with this machine. I skin citrus and hard fruits, but there is hardly any liquid left in the pulp.
Every home should have one!
Don't go for the cheaper ones, you waste so much juice in with pulp. I had one before Jack, that I paid about £35 for. There is no comparison.
We now have more fruit juice and smoothies than a juice bar!

I bought a Moulinex Juice Master for about £25 from Makro (also got Jason Vales juicing book with it), although it's a centrifugal as opposed to a masticator, it does give really good results. I de-core hard fruits but don't peel them, and it extracts the juice from the whole fruit really well.
One of my fave recipes from Jasons book is;
The Brad Pip and Jennifer Aniseed, sounds weird but tastes fab!
6 carrots
1 palm sized fennel bulb
1/2 inch piece of ginger
1 handful parsley
1/4 cucumber
1 stick of celery
1 handful spinach
Juicing is fantastic and I always feel envigorated after drinking it..................only downside is the cleaning!Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. The best cheap (£99) decent juicer is the L'Equip Mini 110.5 - it has a six year guarantee--which you won't find on your average Matsui special from Argos.
It always gets good write-ups--most recently in The Independent newspaper, but if you do a search on Google you'll find plenty of sites recommending it.0 -

Do you know if it takes whole fruit? ie don't have to peel oranges and de-core apples? Obviously have to remove plum stones etc!An eye for eye, and we'll all be blind - Mahatma Ghandi

I'm not sure to be honest--I have a different juicer. I wouldn't eat apple seeds anyway as they contain minute amounts of cyanide.
If you mean can it handle juicing whole fruit I'd say yes, but it has an eliptical feeding chute as opposed to a round one so they might not fit if they're particularly large. Though it looks a decent size on this picture.0 -

Good find Hotblack...........................but it doesn't half remind me of a Dalek!!! We have a Magimix Le Duo. It's great & I wouldn't be without it. You have to chop stuff into fairly small pieces (apples into 6 segments for example), but it juices very well and it extracts loads. There's also a citrus attachment for squeezing oranges, etc. The motor is commercial grade and has a long guarantee (5 or 10 years - can't really remember). The juicer has had some serious abuse from us - for example juicing 20 lbs of blackberries for homemade wine without a break, and 20 lbs of apples for scrumpy. Still going strong after three years.
We used to have one of those £30 Kenwood types & it was dreadful. Needed emptying after every bit of fruit, and loads of little places for stuff to get stuck in when you're trying to wash it up.0 -

Hotblack, the Organic delivery company are offering L'Equipe pulp ejector juicers at £87, I cannot find any cheaper than that. They deliver the fruit and veg for jiucing too. In my new basket: A slightly whiffy blanket; Racy’s 2nd favorite jumper; remains of a slipper; 2 sticks (1 chewed); bouncy ball collection (4); Racy’s iPod :shhh: and a large sock (found under Racy's bed)0 -

Thanks! Shame their web site doesn't seem to want me to order less than 4, though! An eye for eye, and we'll all be blind - Mahatma Ghandi
