Simply be have raised my credit to £400 and it started at £125 and I'm nearly on the forth statement.
JD Williams started at £125 and its now £400 on the forth statement but Kay's started me on £500 and I've paid my first balance off so will be a while before I get an increase with them.
How is everyone else's catalogues coming along and what increase are you getting?
My balance on two of them is just £80 but they are spaming my emails with sales and offers and my letter box is getting hammered with Christmas catalogues.

I've found with the Shop Direct group like Littlewood's, Kays, Very when I have put an order through, I check my online account and they have put my limit up. My Littlewood's credit limit is £5700:eek:
Which I'd never use, I like their buy now, pay later offers, I just put so much away and pay it up, so no interest charges.
I also have a Marisota account same group as Simply Be and in 4 years that is now £2000. Again, never use it, their interest is pretty high.0 -
Bosie - if you save money already to avoid interest charges why not check the prices of the goods elsewhere - you will find them so much cheaper even after your commission.0

they can be cheap, for example I bought an xbox 360 connect. first time 15% off, 6% quidco, and was the same price starting as the shop with also free delivery and buy now pay later. For me it worked out very cheapDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I love my Very account.
Had the account for about 2 years now. Have a credit limit of £2300.00 not that I'd ever use that. I love it for the "buy now, take 3" payment plans, whereby I can spread the cost of goods over a 3 months period without any interest being added. Have bought summer uniforms and winter uniforms from them on the "Top Class" brand and they're such good quality. Bought the kids presents through them last year after researching prices elsewhere (Argos, Toysrus, etc) and got them all the same price as other retailers or less and took it over the 12 months interest free period. Kids were also desperate for new bunk beds at the beginning of the year, bought those in the sale at £49 + £39 for the underdrawers, on "take 3" payment plan, the same bunks are now over £200. Also got my washing machine through them last year, £229 for a Beko 7KG machine, delivered and installed on the 12 month interest free plan. Love it, so good for budgeting and I use it as my "department store". Just about to pay off the outstanding £120 I have on the account and will then do my christmas shopping again.0 -
Well, acting on advice from this forum I today opened a ver.co.uk account, they gave me a £250 limit, and I have just ordered a pair of superdry jeans I have been eyeing up for a while.
£15 cheaper than in my local Cult store, and got 10% off as it's my first order. took the "take 3" plan, no interest. I assume this will look better on credit report, i.e 3 payments instead of 1?
and anyone know when they up your limit, or what you have to do for them to do so. Not that I need it, but would be handy if I needed anything big, TV, computer etc.0 -
their tvs are way over pricedDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Very are similar to high street prices but I still find I can get something much cheaper from shopping around online.LBM 18/06/15 - [STRIKE]£20,276.64[/STRIKE]

I buy my jeans in Asda or Tesco's at £4 per time. Why pay more just for a fancy label?0 -
Opened my littlewoods account 4 years back, starting limit £500, was quickly increased to £1500. I called and asked to be opted out of auto increases. Jacamo, again been about 3 year years. Starting limit £250, was racked upto £1000 in less than three months. Called and opted out of auto increases. Opened a next account recently, starting limit £750, paid one bill, next statement, limit £1250.
Bottom line, the want to trap you on high interest payments, best way to do that i let you spend so you can only afford the minimum payments. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0
