I'm just ready to put my chicken in slow cooker - how much water do you have to put in? It sound silly but I am new to all this.
Also when I have finished do I keep the stock even though I will be boiling the carcus tomorrow for my tasty chicken stock to make soup with??became debt free December 060 -
definately keep it you could make some gravy out of it, or freeze it for soup, or make soup today, even tip it over the dogs food but dont waste it!! i find that if i reduce the stock down it takes up less room in the freezer then jut ad water to it when using itMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

janeawej -I will keep it thanks. Its a great idea to pour it over the dogs food too, he has the dried dog food so it must be boring, isn't it great even the dog has pleasure out of the scraps that in pre old style days we would have thrown it away.became debt free December 060

Hello I know someone on here will be able to explain this.....
I'd love to be able to joint a chicken, I do it; but it never looks 'right'.
Thank you...0 -
It's nicely illustrated here

Hello,
I'm not much of a poster on the OS boards, more of a lurker really, but I was so proud of muself I just had to share!!!
My OH "accidentally" ordered 2 giant chickens from our weekly shop (thought the price per kilo was the actual price :rotfl: ) Anyway, I didn't want to roast both so thought I'd see if I could butcher one and get a few good meals out of it...
So impressed, have managed to get enough for 6 meals each (12 in total)
:T :T :T Yay me.
