Folks - got a call from the FOS requesting a bit more information. Can anyone help me with a few dates?
    1. Does anyone know a date when the Cahoot loans were transferred over to Santander?
    2. When the online facility was withdrawn and how they made everyone aware of this?

    1. Take your pick(!):

    11/02/2010
Variation of Terms issued (does not include Secure Zone removal)

    16/03/2010
First date Santander billed me from.

    21/03/2010
Communicated (via alledged Cahoot email) date of transfer

    2. I can't recall the exact date the Secure Zone was removed though I do recall access issues in the final months of 2009. I cannot locate any T&Cs or variations of T&Cs which have cited the removal of the Secure Zone either.

According to my SAR records I last accessed the website on 13/01/2010.

Hope this is of some help.

Denza - Thats fantastic - many thanks!
  • I have sent my complaint in today. They hiked mine from 6.9% to 19.9% in under 6 months.
  • I've only recently stumbled across this thread after contacting Santander to get an up to date balance, and discovering that I am still being charged a whopping 23.2%!

I have sent an email of complaint today addressed to the CEO and customer services. I look forward to the long wait for a standard rejection letter and will start preparing my info for the FOS!

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread for the helpful info! :T
  • Rejection letter recieved 4 days after my email complaint to Santander.....WOW! Off to the FOS I go!

I contacted them last week to check the position.

I actually sent the complaint on 4th May, but it seems that you have to wait until they are ready before the clock starts ticking. 15th August is my last date for an adjudicator to be assigned. That doesn't mean that it's sorted, though. The FOS is obviously slow, but then I dare say they aren't sufficiently staffed.

    The response was as follows:
From when your complaint is progressed to the next stage of the process, awaiting for an adjudicator to be assigned, takes an average timescale of twelve weeks. Your case was progressed to this stage on 23/05/2012.

Once an adjudicator has been assigned they will contact you and update you accordingly.
  • Just got an email today from a FOS to say that he has been assigned as the adjudicator for my case. It goes on to to say due to the high amount of these complaints to Santander that the response will take longer than usual.

    Will keep you updated

I had an adjudicator assigned to my case, but he phoned me up to say it was essentially shelved for now as they'd had so many complaints that the FOS were going to establish their position once Santander got back to them.

He said that once they decide what their position will be, then they will start making the decisions.

Thanks to everyone who's posted on here before.
