whats confusing me though is if they sent a rejection letter on 16/04 (which I didnt receive) why send an email on 17/04 saying they havent concluded their investigations?!

That happened to me, basically they don't know what they are doing. I emailed asking for an update, received a reply stating they were still working on it, then the next day received the knock back letter. Unless the Royal Mail teleport mail, they had clearly already sent a letter to me and their email was nonsense. I'll leave it with the FOS for now.

Hi - I've finally received knock back letter so planning to go down FOS route - I've not done it before so just wondering do I need to know exact details of rate hikes? It's just that my account was closed in Jan 2010 by Santander and I no longer have internet access to find this info out. Will I need this or will FOS seek this info from Santander? Thanks

Through the FOS just managed to obtain a copy of the calculation. 50 pages long! But appears correct.
  • On a separate note, I've just had a refund of nearly £730 for PPI on my cahoot flexi loan - it wasn't included on the credit agreement I signed and I think it was back in the days where they auto-ticked PPI on the application form. They refunded without a fight - all the payments back, plus interest. The interest worked out at more than the payments!

I have been reading through this thread and complained to santander regarding my cahoot flexi loan. I have received the standard knockback letter and now am preparing to go to the FOS.

My loan began in 2002 and I paid it off in November 2006. My problem is that I have no information which shows my interest hikes although I know the interest increased during the loan period.

I also understand that santander took over from cahoot and that the online facility was closed but I don't know when this happened. Could anyone help? Obviously I cant complain that the online facility was taken away if my loan was satisfied when this happened. cheers in advance

Santander took full ownership in February 2010 if that helps.

How long did it take to get a resolution from Financial Ombudsman?

How much did you get and did they calculate away back to the start of your loan or just when Santander took over?

My original complaint was sent back in July last year, with a reminder sent in January! Eventually got a reject letter last week.

    Thanks

I don't have details of my interest rate rises but have proceeded anyway.

I seem to remember other people doing the same earlier in the thread.

Given that there is no 'reasonable' level of interest that we're all claiming is appropriate it seems to be a case of 'suck it and see'.
