I just contacted Santandar, aparently they sent me a resolution letter over a month ago and i haven't recieved it; So it'd be worth contacting them to get the ball rolling, if you havent received a letter.
I'm sure it's a rejection as my account appears to be the same.0 -

I just got round to lodging my complaint with the FOS and I'm perplexed. After everything all of you have said I was expecting helpful and sympathetic, instead I was told my complaint probably 'wont go very far as afterall they are a business and we (the FOS) cant tell them what their rates should be'. I maintained that I still wanted to go ahead with the complaint and I was asked 'how would you like the complaint to be resolved?' To which I added that I would like a refund of some of the interest give that its almost tripled and has gone up lots and lots - more so from around 2006.
How did everyone else go? I found this strange considering what I was expecting. Does anyone have a summary of arguments to give regarding the whole interest hikes, switch to fixed etc etc???0 -
Im just putting together my complaint and thought this may be of help.. The brief in/out statement that Santy gave me on request shows my loan at 20% but the last page (which I believe is once it went to Santy just shows credits/debits with no apr showing so Ive called Santy and my actual APR is 21.94% BUT in an email I got dated the 24th Jan 2010 that informed me the loan was changing to Santander says "I'd like to reassure you that your account number, interest rate and payment date will all remain the same!" Clearly this has not happened as my statements show it at 20% with Cahoot before it changed and Santander just told me its always been 21.94%!
I also noticed that this email did NOT mention the change from flexible to fixed!0 -
Thank you for that fairydust. It has been noted by one or two of us, but it bears repeating:T.
I have mentioned it in my FOS complaint. If nothing else there should be a few quid floating around for that factual misdirection on Santander's part.
FOS now say they have everything they need from me, but I don't expect to hear much before the end of summer.
Revenge is a dish best served cold in any event:rotfl:.0 -

Just noticed this.
I'm surprised that someone at the FOS would say this. They must be impartial and must obviously review all the circumstances, and adjudicate on whether the conduct of the prooduct has been fairly enacted. If you'd wanted to be controversial you could have asked THEM why they appear to have found in so many people's favour on the same issue.:D
Hopefully just a 'rogue' person at the FOS, but to be honest I have absolutely no idea how this is all going to turn out.0 -
funnily enough my monthly statement for Santy loan came today and it says on there 20% interest so who knows now which one it really is but guy def told me 21.97% on phone TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:0

I also noticed this on my SAR and CCA. Sent a complaint in to the chairman at the end of April and already have cash in my bank account as a refund! They took about £360 in PPI which they refunded plus a little more in interest, so a nice £720+ refund for PPI on the flexi loan. very quick on that one as well. Remember to mention its not on the CCA and they won't have a leg to stand on.Santander Loan [STRIKE]£3003[/STRIKE] £2100AA Credit Card [STRIKE]£3148[/STRIKE] £2676Natwest OD [STRIKE]£1500[/STRIKE] £1370Cahoot OD [STRIKE]£1000 [/STRIKE]£650Capital One Card [STRIKE]£641[/STRIKE] £400Total [STRIKE](Jan 12)[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£9546 [/STRIKE] £7196 (Now)0 -

I too was very surprised to meet some resistance on my first telephone conversation with the FOS. Having read so many complaints, I fully expected the person who answered my call to be familiar with the case but instead he appeared to have never heard of this. I was really not prepared for an interrogation! Please be reassured though that when your allocated adjudicator contacts you, you will hopefully feel more confident in their handling of the case. My adjudicator explained the next stages efficiently and has since updated me to say that she is still waiting for my files from Santander. I hope this helps. Fingers still crossed...0 -
