No Response for over 2 months - I've written to them twice and they say they are processing my request! Yes, I have had no response for two Months! I expect a rejection, but want to get the ball rolling with the OBS service. How long can they keep me hanging!0

I received my response in a little over three months.
They do seem to be responding slightly differently to some people, which does imply that they are looking at each case individually.
Anyway, my complaint is now lodged with the FOS.
Time now to sit back and wait.0 -
Does anybody know if the FOS usually acknowledge receipt of your complaint by letter? It's been over 2 weeks now and no contact from them.0

I couldn't remember my account number, loan amount/APR etc etc.
I then failed security when i called them as I couldn't remember the passwords or amount the loan was for as it was a while back, they told me to write to them for this information which i did, giving them as much info as i could, ie username, address at time of loan, date of birth and other info relating to myself.
They replied with a letter saying...
Thank you for contacting us regarding your personal loan account.
We were unable to trace an account for you. Please note that due to data protection regulations we do not retain information on accounts which have been closed for over five years.
Where can i go from here, i don't have any paperwork or statements from the loan, but the more i think about it now i do believe that my APR was hiked unfairly.
Are there any other avenues I can try?
Thanks guys.0 -

Did you get a reference from them (assuming you first reported it by phone)? If so, give them a call and check that it's been received.
I did so today and they confirmed they had my documents.0 -

Thanks Cell, I downloaded the application form and sent it off so have no reference number. I'll give them a ring next week just in case it's gone astray.0 -

Have you tried a credit reference search? That should show you accounts from the last 6 years, you might drop lucky. Try using Noddle, it's free.0 -

I got a letter within a couple of weeks confirming receipt of the paperwork and issuing me with a unique claim reference.
Mind you I delivered it by hand as I work directly opposite FOS Mansions so that could possibly affect timescales.
Good luck with your claim.0 -

Another possible option is your bank. The payment of the direct debit to Cahoot would have a reference number, ring your bank and ask. Given this reference Santy should be able to find you.0 -
Hi,
I logged a complaint with Cahoot regarding my now closed loan (still a current customer tho) and the intrest rate hikes, did this via email with attached complaint letter on 7th March. Letter had account number etc.. in it and I got an acknowledgement letter a week later telling me they were investigating. I understand that they have 8 weeks to resolve the complaint but I've heard nothing since, have chased them up on the 3rd March and also today.
If I hear nothing from them do I take this to FOS, I had read somewhere that they don't deal with rate hike complaints but my general issue is the lack of communication from my bank.0
