Hi Emma, was this after the move to Santander though? I was just wondering if those of us who paid it off before Santander took over have more complicated cases. Certainly they couldn't have offered us alternative products!0 -

My loan was paid off around 4 years ago and I'm just wondering if they are dealing with their current customers first, plus of course large parts of that standard letter wouldn't apply.
I paid it off late summer last year, but in view of Emma's post none of it really makes any sense...
Santander took the account over well before last year.0 -
Nothing that Santy do is logical or appears to have reason. My case is now with the FOS and have been told I should get a judgement with a couple of weeks or so. , In the end I gave up trying to get resonable responce out of Santy to even simple questions.0

Hope yours is positive oracleman...when did you raise the complaint with the FOS? I raised mine a week or two ago and the lady told me 6 MONTHS before a resolution (she did say that was a ball park figure lol!)0 -

My complaint was raised with FOS 7th Jan. I received a letter shortly after that that it would be 4 weeks before they looked into it. I later received a further letter to say it would be assigned to an adjuicator within 12 weeks. So given the backlog of Santy cases and the insurance PPI cases yes 6 months is probably sadly true.0 -
Hi All,
I too received the letter of rejection 2 days ago. Precisely 56 days from receipt.!
Is there a standardized complaint letter to be sent to the FOS with any specific detail that needs to be included.
Thanks0 -
I contacted Santander today to see what was happening with my complaint. I was told that my complaint resolution letter was posted to me this morning which I have taken to mean they will print off the standard rejection letter and post to me today.0

Anyone who needs to contact the FSO their details are here. You can either call or complete the form and send it to them (I would suggest worth looking at the form first anyway so that you know what you need to give them info wise).

Wensleydaleuk, it was after santander took over that i paid it off. When i asked for my statements they sent them with a line through from march 2010 saying this was when the account migrated to santander. The interest rises started well before this though so i dont know how that would affect you if you paid it off before march 2010? i would imagine that does make it a little more complicated.0

In my experience, prodding the FOS for an update on your complaint after a month or two of no activity seemed to get it to the top of the queue. happened twice for me and after asking for an update it was resolved within 2 weeks.:beer:0
