I to have now had the standard letter, so now will have to phone the FOS.
What information will I need to provide them with? I've not been very good keeping information that cahoot may have sent me.
Thanks in advance.0 -

Take a look here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Also has the forms to fill out if you can print them.
Send them as much as you have, including a copy of the rejection letter and a copy of your complaint.
The FOS can get what else they need from Santander if you don't have it.:beer:0 -
Hi,
I too have recieved the standard knockback.
Does anyone have a standard letter for the FOC complaint?
Cheers,

I just found a generic email relating to the changeover of Cahoot to Santander and thought I would paste just in case it has anything useful in it.
We recently wrote to you to make you aware that over the coming months we are commencing a programme to upgrade our banking systems. This means that we will be implementing some changes to our current products and processes that may impact you. We will try and keep any changes to a minimum.
Changes to your loan
This communication is to inform you of changes we are making to the management of your flexible loan. cahoot is a trading division of Santander UK plc and as cahoot no longer offers loan products, we are transferring the management of your loan account to Santander. We will confirm the exact date of transfer in the next few weeks.
I'd like to reassure you that your account number, interest rate and payment date will all remain the same.
Once the transfer is complete
Once the transfer is complete, we will be replacing online access to your loan with contact centre support. As a result, you will be able to change your payment amount and date by telephone and you will start to receive your statements through the post, so please ensure that we have the correct postal address details for you. This is a notice of variation to your terms and conditions and condition 3.4 of the cahoot flexible loan conditions will be varied as follows -
3.4(a)If at any time you wish to change the payment date or change the amount of your monthly payment, you can do so by giving us instructions by telephone. You must give us instructions at least 15 working days prior to the payment date otherwise we will carry out your instructions with effect from the payment date in the following month.(b)We will send you statements relating to your cahoot flexible loan by post
If you have chosen to protect your loan with our cahoot payment protection insurance, your cover will continue and you will receive a separate communication confirming the details.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing cahoot and to remind you to look out for a subsequent communication confirming the transfer date and contact centre phone number.
Yours sincerely,
Clare Hopper

Well that certainly raised a smile this morning!
Coincidently I requested a copy of the current Terms & Conditions from Santander yesterday and was told that they comprised the original T&C's from Cahoot in tandem with the communications made around the loan transfer.
They are going to send me copies of this within 5 - 7 working days (allegedly) and will post any salient details here on receipt.0 -
starting to get really fed up waiting for a response letter...we all know the outcome now and yet still not recieved one. Got 3 days until my 8 weeks is up and sent chaser email and just responded yet again with response within 5-7 working days. Really just want to go to the next step now because with all the rejection letters sent there is no option for them but been expecting it for the last week and still nothing.0

Less than 8 weeks? Pah. Amateur stuff:D.
January 12th and counting. I make that nearly 13 weeks.
As you say though...letter awaited and then cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.:T0 -

After rejecting my original complaint saying they transferred the loan at a fixed rate for the loan duration they sent me a modification to terms page that said they could vary the rate if they want.
They clearly have no idea what they are doing.:beer:0 -

I'm sure that we can all agree on that point!0 -
Well, a few weeks ago I phoned Santander to request details of my rate rises (when and how much) and I have actually received a printed statment today.
Initial rate: 7.72%
Current rate: 20%
These were my rate rises:
04/2002 - 7.72%
06/2003 - 7.57%
12/2003 - 7.81%
03/2004 - 8.09%
06/2004 - 8.46%
07/2004 - 8.93%
09/2004 - 9.15%
07/2006 - 11.29%
09/2006 - 11.56%
12/2006 - 11.87%
01/2007 - 14.00%
07/2007 - 18.32%
08/2008 - 20%
The statment shows balance, credits and interest charged and the rates. I didnt have to pay - I simply phoned the number on my knockback letter and asked! Since I havent finilised my complaint I will now include it in relevant documentation for the FOS. It will also be helpful if I have to calculate what might be owed!
In the transfer over to Santander have they followed all the procedures? I found it quite interesting to read the court case that someone posted a bit earlier where Santander lost because procedures of a switch from GE Capital to Santander hadnt been followed.
Any thoughts on any of it anyone?0
