  • Ok, i know this is old, but its still relevant. When heat is off, i hang at windows like others have said - under the bottom of the blinds when they are pulled up. I have storage heaters, so in the winter, i pile them high with washing overnight plus put a rack on top, the single sort that opens out and tuck it all in with a sheet over it, so it acts as an oven, its all bone dry in the morning.
  • Many years ago when living in a flat I had a 4 line gizmo that fixed to the wall over the bath and pulled out over the bath. Dried my washing a treat with bathroom window opened. Look for over bath clothes line

I also use one of these in winter or wet weather . I place a stand fan on low speed ( about 20 watts ) blowing on the washing and the bathroom extractor humidistat set to its most sensitive so it kicks in now and again to remove the moist air. Works a treat for coppers a day !
