Due to some rotten weather here, my clothes can not stay dry
I don't have a tumble dryer, and the only heating I have in this house is two gas fires...the one in the lounge is awaiting service so I can't use. The other does the job, but does not help with the dog running in and out?
Is there anyway I can dry a lot of clothes off?

To be honest I'd probably take the lot down to the laundrette.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

If your heating prob is just temporary, the laundry would be the least hassle. I do not have a dryer, but dry my clothes on racks, when the heat was off, it did start getting a musty smell, but this does not happen, as i now use vinegar in my washing machine instead of conditioner. i do now have the heating on, so it dries overnight, usually. I also have one of these http://www.livingiseasy.co.uk/products/cat5/cat763/cat765/AIR_O_DRY_PORTABLE_CLOTHES_DRYER._Hang_dry_your_clothes_indoors_in_less_than_an_hour./index.html Not that exact model, but it does look the same, it packs into a little bag and you can probably pick up for about £40ish quid, if you look around, or you could get a heated clothes rack, not too sure how much they are to run, sure someone would be able to help you cost it on these boards.0 -
I hang clothes indoors using special (poundshop) hooks that fit over door tops & which hold 4 hangers. 3 hooks on 3 doors = 12 shirts/ blouses.
As we have double glazing I put a clothes horse in the back bedroom bay window - sounds stupid but the clothes seem to dry faster in good light!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Heating not on. Lakeland Dry Soon 3 Tier Dryer Tower Airer parked in Living room which needs a big clear.
I am washing a quilt first bit of bedding to plonk on above.

People report on the comprehensive Reviews section (honest!) that an added benefit is warmer room where it is placed.
I would read Reviews, have reservations and questions, buy the above, test the above and eventually write Review on Lakeland who are Customer focused.
I have spent too many years struggling in Winter and have had enough hence purchase of above.:money:#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

What's your budget? You can't go wrong with a dehumidifer and a small room553780080

Have you room for a pulley? It gets winched up to the ceiling and keeps the clothes out of the way while they dry." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Hi All, thanks for your advice
I've managed to use the spare room, leave a window open and put a fan on the lowest setting to have a "breeze" effect. It does seem to work!
How much is a dehumidifier? I'm looking at buying two heaters for about £21 each to heat the two rooms and bathroom.0 -
Do you not have a clothes line? You can't get more OS than that!
Even if it won't dry outside it takes less time once it's inside. Also do you have an airing cupboard? I don't use my tumble drier and i don't put washing on the radiators, i use my outside line, an airer in the conservatory or spare room and my airing cupboard.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I have a clothes line outside! The thing is, we've had rain on and off and this washing was done Tuesday! It has been raining today, so I've had to get the clothes in if still somewhat damp and stored in the spare room on the clothes horses.0
