  • I would contact them and say the fees are making it impossible for you to catch up on your account - say you are in financial difficulty (be prepared to explain) and ask if they could do anything to help you out of the situation - you may get some or all of your fees re-imbursed :)

Thanks, Fairy - I'll try to call them and explain. I have talked to them about this in the past and they've been thoroughly unhelpful. I'm in the process of changing my bank because of this!

If they are still unhelpful when you contact them again then tell them you will have to contact the financial ombudsman to ask about the current situation on bank fees as you believe there are regulations about this ;)

Then you should put in a claim for any fees for past 6 years :D - check out the bank fees thread on here for more info!

Yes be careful, people will give you neutral feedback for even 50p overcharge! They will definitely give you less than full stars and this can be a big effect. Some buyers on there seem to think it should be the cost of the stamp only - not even allowing for packaging. Let alone the fact that you pay 3.6% to receive their postage payment as well!

I have got negative feedback for postage costs before when i actually undercharged for postage :mad: its such a stupid system! Typical fleabay nonsense! LOL can you tell i'm not a fan :o

Received another £10 voucher from S&S/CP yesterday, and £15.20 Ebay sales profit from last week.
Don't think there's anything else I can add at the moment really.

However we have found a new house to move to, so will be moving in a few weeks time, so this has to be the biggest motivator for me to get my !!!!! onto Ebay pronto as I do not want to take things with us that we don't want as I would like to start in the new place as we would like to go on, and that means minimum clutter and rubbish! So if it's not sold, it may end up in the Charity shop, Freecycle, or the bin!!! This is pretty extreme for me as not a lot leaves the house not wrapped in brown paper (well, wall paper actually as it's far cheaper :D ).
So hopefully next week I'll have a nice boost from Ebay to my total to bring me up to date with my target!
    Fingers crossed!!!

    congrats on finding new house.

have you tried netmums for placing free ads? it's not a bidding thing, it is the price you choose to list, but if you explain you are moving and just want rid, you may get a few fair offers?

I did have a look at Netmums after you suggested it to me before, though never did get around to listing anything :o

I have tried Facebook as well but there are so many different selling pages local to me, it gets very confusing, and just full of people constantly 'bumping' their things by putting another comment under the pic, or reposting the same things 3 times a day, and no one seems to delete things once they are sold, so the groups aren't as effective as they could be.

I will try Net mums for some of the baby clothes and toys that we want rid of, as we have more than enough than needs to be kept for the new baby.

Most of the Ebay things are just little odd bits and pieces that aren't really worth much, but I'm willing to spend the time listing and packing etc even for a pretty small profit as it all adds up, and with moving house, Christmas and a new baby due, every little helps!!

Forgot actually I also have £28 from some online mystery shop type assessments to add that I received yesterday, although annoyingly this particular company pay by cheque so bit of a pain, but luckily the bank is just next door to the Post Office and I've got a couple of little bits ending on Ebay tonight so will be waddling off that way anyway! I'll add the cheque now though rather than when it clears as I'll get confused otherwise! (That and the fact that my total is still quite small at the moment so it will make me feel better!!)

  • Struggling a bit this month, just a tiny £1.30 to add. I am now 7 months pregnant so feeling tired and not very motivated for ebay etc! Must improve as I'm dropping behind on my target!
