It's up to you how you do the challenge - some people count savings as it's extra money that they wouldn't otherwise have had, while others only count money that they actually make - i.e, earn/find/win/are given/etc.
We've all got our own different 'rules' - For example, I won't usually count reduced or BOGOF goods as I always look out for bargains and probably would have bought them anyway, but I will count things like coupons and discounts as I would have gone out of my way to find them, iyswim.
Just checked my bank account and found 29p interest
(£14.30/£300)why don't you have a read of the first page and see if there is anything there you don't already do, that you maybe interested in and give it a go. then you will find you are increasing your income by x amount per day.
Thanks to you both - Rethinking this and ......
1) monies saved by vouchers, parking charges or buying from one shop instead of another, is genuine money saved - and I will take it out of my purse as if spent.
2) As for trying to make-up for the loss in hubby income (hours/wages changed). Then for this I need to give those survey, click and other sites a go. See if I can increase our income.
If I can't manage much with No. 2, then at least we will have the monies from No. 1. :j
Good luck all for todayTypically confused and asking for advice0 -

So far so good! yesterday I took lunch to work. Saving £5. I got a free Stylist magazine and a newspaper - potentially £2.50 saved. I then got home and went on a huge bill-slashing mission - mobile phone bill slashed by 50% in one phone call. Car insurance cancelled and now with another company, saving £160. LoveFilm was £14.99 now £8.50. (I've been living in a dreamworld for far too long - I know most people sorted their cheapest bills out a long time ago... I'm learning!!)
Today I got dropped off at the station, saving £4.50 parking, I have my flask, saving £1.50 on a cuppa tea, I have my lunch with me, saving £5.
I've also listed 5 ebay items, so hpefully the fruits of my labour will pay up next week!
The mission is on!0 -

I'd been wondering whether to carry on with it as well. I've now decided to quit any sites that are more hassle than they're worth... McCains, and Woohoo bingo (Woohoo is the bain of my life at the moment :rotfl: wondering if I'll ever cash out and be free of them!).
I figure that my time would be better spent (and I will make more money!) on things like ebay, or surveys than by keep logging into sites that only pay a few pennies a week.
lol - I hear you. Woohoo bingo is driving me insane - those adverts at the beginning of each game.......aarrgghh....At home all day yesterday never spent a penny !!!!
Gosh, you must be close to bursting! Very MSE though, as no flushing means saving money on the water meter:p
After deciding to join the challenge I pulled off all the chair / sofa cushions and found the grand total of .29p. Also sold a book on Amazon which (after P&P) made me £7.08. So total for yesterday £7.37.
Now, off to Google My Survey and Mccain....LBM 16/10/11 Debt £17025.79 at LBM (current £16557.96)

Same here... Only the envelope arrived.
You do it through the Royal Mail claim form - P58 (I prob can't link, but just google it and it will come up). They will compensate you postage and cost of the item as on eBay. A bit of a pain to fill in through... Going to do it at lunch time.
Got nothing today yet, though have answered all polls on Maximiles and got up to 535 points now.
Listed 3 random things on eBay last night, so fingers crossed...November £10 per day challenge: £265.93/£300
November NSDs: 5/10
Goal - Debt-free by XMAS 2012 Challenge #015: £10k
