    Why cant someone be a friend just because they are the opposite sex?

    I helped my housemate a few years ago who had depression and wouldnt get things done after his employer fired him and kept "forgetting" to send a form stating he left work so he had no benefits for 6 months bar housing benefit and just punched walls etc, I helped him as it was making me depressed plus meant I couldnt go for a walk with him or drink because he had no money.

    Glad to hear you are getting help from your MP and welfare rights people.

    Gosh some people on here are hard work. Of course the OP is helping his flatmate sort out her claim! Most of us care at least a little about the people with whom they live, particularly if they are unwell. We are all helping each other on here, does that mean we are all in some kind of partnership? No, just that most people try to help others in need, with no strings attached.
