2 faulty laptops

Thanks.
But why not though? It's entirely PC World's fault for selling me faulty laptops ... where's the quality control from KnowHow?
Aren't refurbished machines checked before they go on sale? My two were blatantly faulty with serious problems .... blue screen errors and (seems like) malware/virus errors are not the norm.0 -
Are they HP perchance?£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

One is Advent, one HP.0 -
I don't see how it can be a bargain if it doesn't work0

One is Advent, one HP.
If the HP is the one blue screening, it's likely to be a common fault in that laptop - it was the same one I had and had to fight for 6 months to be replaced, because HP *knows* there is a fault in the fan of them yet refuses to acknowledge it. There's even a forum set up for people who've bought that laptop as there's so many out there!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -

Thanks. The Advent (first) had the blue screen but the HP (replacement) takes a very long time (20 mins) to start up, then randomly opens multiple (10s) of web pages (all home page). Some of the keys also don't work at all and some not properly.
These may be refurbished but they are meant to have been quality tested and come with 12 months warranty.0 -
At the end of the day you can either ask them to repair the machine under warranty or replace it with a similar machine or failing this if they don't have a similar machine they give you your money back. But I feel you don't want your money back as you know you cannot get a similar spec machine for that price as it was "a good bargain". You are hoping even to get a higher spec machine for the same cost but I don't think it works that way (unless at the discretion of the store). I take it they are not refusing to repair the machine and they have replaced it once albeit with another one with a problem.
My gut feeling on this is take the money and run or you may find yourself 12 months down the line with a machine not working and out of warranty. In my experience with computers they either work from go or you will constantly have problems with them.0 -

They are not refusing to 'repair' or replace again but my argument is that I want a 'new' machine because they have given me two faulty 'refurbished' ones and I now don't trust their quality control.0 -
You purchased a refurbished one so all they owe you is a refurbished machine of similar spec or your money back. If I went into Sony's shop and purchased a new Sony laptop and it did not work and I because of this did not trust Sony's quality control I would not be within my rights to go to them and demand they supply me an apple mac!!0
