Sure it is. I got my MCS certificate the day it was installed, downloaded the FIT paperwork from E.on and sent it special delivery the following day. Called them up day after to ensure I was on the system - total time, 3 days!
You will need to check with whoever you are using for FITs that they can process the application quickly as I think many are swamped at the moment.0 -

I've read the news articles but its not clear whether or not a new installation before april will get the original rates. I had intende dto get solar panels done but the dec announcement scuppered my plans so i'm keen to not miss out again. I fear that if the goiverment appeal the decision etc then this will drag on a few months and make the original april deadline anyway. What to do?0 -
ofc when the money runs out before april , and your electric prices go up by 500% to compensate for all the extra solar installs0

Even more disappointing as they were asking for comment on that piece last night, so I wrote a short, concise, carefully considered and spellchecked comment, and now they've taken the comment form off.
Grrr! Could it be because the comments were against PV?0 -

Wouldn't have been a smart move if Homesun had contacted all pending customers to say that awaiting the outcome of the court case they would put all new installs on hold, with info of how the company or client could cancel without penalty.
They would obviously lose some, but some may have been retained, all surveys and info done, for a later date.0 -
I had to call my solar panel installation company last week because a bracket from my solar panel installation had been blown down in the recent gales. One of the installation engineers came around within an hour. His diagnosis was there was nothing to worry about as the bracket was only used as a spacer to align the panels and they could all be safetly removed.
While he was here I asked him how the installation business was going. He said nobody was having solar panels installed and it was lucky his firm also did ground source and air source heat pump installations. Those installations are still going strong.
It looks like the government have effectively killed the solar panel industry.0 -
