I'm worried about ours now, we went for 12pm but no idea why really. I now realise that its quite early for our small wedding of 20 people :(.

We're having to do 3 venues due to family issues (disagreements) so were going to go for 12pm and the following:

    12pm ceremony - arrive 11.30am (20 people)
12.30pm - 2.30pm drinks/canapes for 20 people (photos too, we have venue for 3 hours)
2.30pm travel to venue for meal (10 mins)
2.40pm - 5pm meal for 20 people (family) and cake

We then have a venue booked in Brighton for an evening reception, booked from 6pm onwards, but it'll only take 30 mins to get there. The friends and other guests (50) for an evening drinks reception will be invited from 7.30pm, so that leaves us with quite a gap.

I'm very tempted to change our ceremony time to 1.30pm.

    What do people think?

    Panicking now!

I know what you mean about worrying it's too early, i'm the same. However, OH has been reassuring me that 12pm will be a good time, as the day will be quite long and relaxed. I'm worried that people will get bored though!

    My plan is
    12pm ceremony
1-3 photographs, canapes and welcome drinks. This includes OH and me going off for an hour for some photos in a local park area.
3.15 sit down for wedding breakfast
    5.30 Speeches
6pm People move to the bar whilst the room gets ready for the evening
    7pm - late evening party!

Hopefully people won't get too bored! But I think there are pros and cons of having the wedding early/late, so I'm trying not to worry too much :)

We've only got 20 people for most of the day and won't be having speeches or anything like that (OH doesn't want them).....so I may move it later!!

We're not doing speeches either - and we don't have a best man/bridesmaids...

Can I ask why you're inviting evening guests from 7.30 when you have the evening venue from 6pm? Why not invite them to be there from 6 and then there'd be less "hanging about" at that venue waiting for them?

You need to allow for "faffing" time as well - it takes people time to get in/out of cars, park etc.

    We've gone for 12pm.
We had the choice of 12pm or 4pm. While 4pm may be a little bit cheaper (as we wouldn't need as much food etc)... we wanted the party to last longer! :)

We're getting married at 2.30 in the afternoon on 11/11/11. We've had guests say that's too early because it's a Friday and a photographer say it's late because of the light!

I'm getting married that day too - so the light will be okay at 2.30, because it is going to be a lovely sunshiney day!!!!!!!

    lol

if it was going to be bad weather, it can be dark at 3.30pm as it was one day last week - which is why we took advice from the photographer and booked 12:45pm. 1 hour for the church service, and still lots of time for photos before the light fades.
