3pm for us! Ceremony til 3.30 max then drinks and photos til sit down meal at 5 then evening reception begins at 7. Not too much hanging around for everyone after the ceremony, but enough time for photos - plus I'm not a morning person so it will give me plenty time to wake up fully and get ready! :rotfl:
Everyone will have their opinion on what time is 'best' but go with whatever time feels right for you!0 -
12.30! and then we get plenty of time to chat to guests and also as it's in March we get to spend time out on the hotel's beach.Married since March 20120

I got married at 3pm (well was mean't to) and it all worked really well.
I can't imagine an earlier time as the wedding car picked me up at 2pm.
I was up at 7:30am to leave for 8:30am for my 9am hair dressing appt. By the time I got home (me and my mums hair dressing appt) it was 11am. That included having a bit of relax time at the hair dressers with a cup of tea before driving home.
Make up lady and photographer arrived at 11:30am. Make up lady only had myself, my mum and my sisters make up to do and before I knew it was 1pm and everyone was then getting dressed.
That gaves us 1 hr for photos of us all ready and then 2pm arrived. I left at 2pm because it was a registrar wedding (they went to our choice of venue) and I was to meet with them at 2:50pm, hubby was to meet with them at 2:45pm.
They stressed the importance of the wedding starting on time. As it turned out, they were late....It was 3:05pm when it was my turn to meet with them. I have no idea when the actual ceremony started as 3:05pm was the last time I saw a clock, lol.
But I'd imagine it was nearly 3:30pm and then we stepped outside at 4pm I would of thought and had an hour for photos.
It was probably 5:30pm by the time we had our meal. I remember going back inside after photos, getting a drink and chatting with people for a bit before our food.
We could of chosen a 1pm time slot, but I cannot picture that, I was relaxed with the timing of everything, suddenly redoing the whole day with a 1pm slot would of stressed me out.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
2pm for us. I would say my sister got married at 4 with the intention of having it run straight through. However, the best MEN spoke for over an hour between them. That menat the dj didn't start until 9.30pm and we only seemed to have a few songs as we had to leave by 11!!! Lickily there was somewhere we could carrying on partying. I would consider an earlier wedding if you can.
We plan on 2pm wedding, followed by a drink and nibbles, photos etc in the place we are having the ceremony. 4pm - 5pm arrival at hotel where wedding is, reception drinks. Meal at around 5pm - 7.30pm followed straight on by evening recpetion until midnight. Things take much longer than you think when there is a large group of you. Hopefully our timing should allow for plenty of time for photos, for people to 'freshen up' in the hotel beofre the meal if they want, lots of time for family and friends to catch up and enjoy their meals without rushing. It should allow time for speeches also. I just hope no one feels like they are waiting around too long, but as the day guests are family and very close friends there should be no akward 'getting to know each other' momnets!

First time round I got married at 3 in church, reception at a local hotel. We had the meal around 5 then pretty much ran right into the evening. I felt like I was hanging round all morning and then it flew by.
This time round (2 weeks ago!!) we married at 12, spent a couple of hours wandering round the zoo having photos done, meal was around 3.15. We left the zoo around 5.30 and had evening party starting 7.30. Really enjoyed having more actual wedding time to enjoy0 -
We got married just a few weeks ago at 2pm. It didn't feel rushed in the morning, but with hair and makeup, I don't know how people do it lots of bridesmaids to deal with. We just had me, BM and my mum getting professional hair and makeup and we started around 8am.
However, despite that, I would have much preferred to have it earlier and be much less rushed in the afternoon. We had to move people to the reception venue, which took about an hour, and we were really pressed for time all day. Would have loved to have had more time with the photographer etc which we could have done with an earlier ceremony time.0 -

You've made me feel so much better about having my wedding at 12! I'm quite worried about being really rushed in the morning and then everyone basically just being bored all day. I'm hoping that if I'm quite prepared on the morning then all I'll have to do is hair/make up and get dressed. Nails etc can already be done. Hoping that between ceremony and meal we'll be able to spend time getting pics done, hoping nobody will run off bored!0 -
We just booked our wedding yesterday and we are getting married at 12pm on 12.12.12 I initially thought of booking 12.30 but the registrar suggested 12 so that it would be 12 12.12.12 and I thought that was a brilliant idea.
Lots of things to consider as DF's family live in South Africa and I am trying to get them to come over as a surprise!!! we'll see if that works out, will be fantastic if it does because we haven't seen them in 5 years!0 -
I seem to be the earliest - our civil partnership is at 11am:heartsmil
