What time are you getting married?

Just wondering what time everyone's ceremonies are
We're getting married at 4pm - my thinking was that it lets us go quite smoothly from ceremony to our sit-down meal and evening reception with no big gaps - but now I'm worried it might end up feeling rushed! Plus it gives me a long time to be waiting around... Argh... What time are you all doing it? Any hints and tips on timing etc?

We were originally going to go for a later time like 3pm onwards as we were not sure if we could afford a sit down meal and that would cut out that time and allow us to have an earlier evening bit but we have since found a reception area that offers such good value we are now getting married at 1pm then having a sit down meal :T
I'm so happy with this time as it's long enough to get ready, not too long to wait that I'll get too nervous and it gives us a nice amount of time to enjoy the whole day :j
Edit - the church said we could have either 2.30pm or 1pm so we went with 1pm allowing time for delays, photos at the venues and time so it's not rushed before we have the sit down meal about 4pmSaving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!:j

We're getting married at 2pm, not the time I would have had ideally but we had the choice of 2pm or 3pm so we just picked one.
I'm a bit concerned I'll be pacing about waiting for 2pm to come round though, and it will give OH the opportunity to have more than the couple of drinks he's being allowed before the ceremony :rotfl:0 -

this was my thinking too getting married later, don't want him rolling down the aisle or falling down at the alter :rotfl:Saving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!:j

1.45pm for us - simply because with a November wedding, we lose the light for photographs much earlier, so any later, and all our photographs would have to be taken indoors!
They may still all be indoors anyway, with the unpredictable november weather, lol, but at least we have a chance with the ceremony earlier....
Not such an issue for the summer weddings being planned!
We too went for a hotel, with a great package, enabling us to have a sit down meal and an evening buffet)

As the day goes so quickly, I wanted an earlier time. I was thinking 1pm but my MIL* was insisting on 4pm. In the end we went with 2pm.
* She is paying for over half the wedding so I have to sort of listen to her about some things0 -
We're getting married at 2pm, we're having a civil ceremony and we could only choose between 2pm and 4pm. I thought that 4 pm would be too late and the wedding would feel rushed.0

We're getting married at 1.30pm, then off for sit down meal at 2.30 and the reception at 5.30. It's all fairly early but then again we'll be leaving fairly early too, and wanted to enjoy plenty of the day. It does mean I'm going to have a pretty early alarm call though...0

3pm for us. This gives guests time to have lunch beforehand, then we will start the meal around 5 or 5.30. The slightly later meal also means that we only need to provide a very light finger buffet in the evening.
As for waiting around, you will find that the time will very easily be filled with hair, make up, making sure everything is ready etc. When I was a bridesmaid the make up artist and hairdresser were both there by 9am, for a 1pm wedding. The photographer also took a few pre-wedding shots.
If you're having a very late ceremony, you could always go for a walk to relax your nerves, or treat yourself and your maids to breakfast (or just a coffee if you can't face food!) at a cafe before you get ready.Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012
