Ppi advice line?

I signed PPI Advice Line contract in the beginning of 2011. After paying them £72 on receipt of £70 compensation from my credit card they sent me a form to compete. I rang them as I had some questions on the form and they were incompetent to answer. However I completed the form and returned it to them in September 2011. Have not heard from them since and I am still charged with PPI on my card. However I received a call few days ago and they asked me for payment of £830 as my claim has been closed. I requested invoice to be send instead I get e-mail saying that they need further information as the lender has requested and another e-mail saying that “they have received an initial offer of recompense from your lender in response to our lodged complaint. This offer is presently under audit by our dedicated response team to assess the validity of the amount and the potential for a negotiated increase. We would ask that during this period, you not sign any acceptance documentation or verbally agree to any offers your lender may put forward. Acceptance of any offer without sufficient evaluation may result in your award being significantly lower than you are due.”
I will not pay this amount and will take this further. For all of you who have been trying to contact them, they have different telephone number. The one they answered is: 01274267486.
For those of you who do not have copy of the contract I can scan and send you the one I have which looks like a standard one. This is actual not a contract in my opinion but only a terms as my name has not been mentioned.
I will see what will happen. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.0 -
When you signed the contract with them, and if you signed a piece of paper and sent it back, you DID sign a contract, then it probably said they could represent you in any PPI complaint, not just the first one.
If you have received redress from any company, you have to pay them their cut, because you signed the contract.
If they didn't make it clear that if you had arrears or debts on anything, such that if you were to be paid redress, it would go back to the original lender to set off, and you would still have to pay the claims company, then you may have a case not to pay.
Otherwsie, you are stuck with the contract terms and conditions that you signed.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Yes I have the terms and conditions but no contract. I keep records of all my documents over the last 6 years so do not have anything with them except the terms. When I received the redress from my card, I paid them their shares by phone and never signed and return their unfair charges complaint form. Does this give me any options to cancel any authorisation they may have on my behalf?

I'm currently in a dispute with ppi advice line. I was getting daily calls from the company and when I did eventually answer, the prerecorded message claimed to be affiliated with RBS regarding ppi. Prior to the phone calls, I had received a letter from RBS regarding ppi from 2 loans I had taken out several years ago and paid off. I assumed the letter and calls had something to do with each other. I arranged a visit to my house and signed two contracts. Having read the small print and seeing that they were going to charge me 30% of my claim, I called and cancelled my claims an hour after I had signed. I was informed that my claims would not be processed.
I went through RBS myself and had my claims dealt with and completed.
I then got a letter from ppi advice line demanding 30% of one of the claims -for a different amount to the two I've received.
When I called them, I was told I'd signed the contract so I have to pay. When I told them I'd cancelled, they claim to have no record of my call (even though I have the phone bill with the call on) I even pointed out that as I'd claimed the money myself, they haven't fulfilled their part of the contract.
I'm now getting calls demanding money: they say I signed the contract so have to pay - I ask them to prove what they have done to met the terms of the contract, then ill pay.
So far, they have not provided me with any evidence but are threatening me with court action.0 -

They will huff and puff and threaten. However, without evidence they wont go near a court. They will try and scare you into paying.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Please see this thread here on MoneySavingExpert about PPI Advice Line's previous brand Redress Claims.
There's an article in the Guardian newspaper about Redress Claims ripping people off and having their licence revoked: http://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/feb/03/redress-claims-never-saw-cash . Since being forced to shut down for their crooked activities, the Director Naman Hussain has had to set up a new trading entity, PPI Advice Line (albeit using other front people, as his name is tarnished). Be warned, based on what people here on MSE and all over the internet are saying about both Redress Claims and the new entity PPI Advice Line.0 -
